ANOTHER SLATE -- A SECOND CHANCE

There's nothing as priceless as a second chance.

The blood of Jesus (through which mankind is redeemed into God) is the object of our second chance.

Oh, before I forget; HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU.

It's a new year and with it comes many opportunities to achieve, to do better or best, to correct, to perfect etc

It's possible you lost life transforming opportunities before but you're not going to loose the ones available to you in this year (because today you are encouraged, motivated and armed to the teeth to make the best of every opportunity available to you)

However, you MUST be ready and willing to do what it takes.

Doing what it takes to get what you want sounds easy but not simple.

Imagine the woman with the issue of blood, as stinking and socially unacceptable as she was, she forced her way through the crowd to receive her healing.

She heard jesus was passing by, she heard Jesus was in town; she saw her opportunity to meet him, she saw and recognised her opportunity to get healed; she didn't mind how unfit for Jesus her appearance was rather she was fixated on the opportunity in Jesus and she made the best out of it -- her healing.

I hope you have not forgotten Zacchaeus (the short tax collector).

He had long sought an audience with Christ but didn't have the opportunity not until he heard Jesus was passing by.

He knew his limitations (his height and his poor reputation amongst the people) but was unsettled by them. He climbed a tree ( at his age and with his social status) so he could see Jesus; by so doing, he saw Christ and had the pleasure of hosting Christ.

Imagine what would have become of the woman with the issue of blood if she did not do what it took to see Jesus on that fateful day, she would have died with her condition.

Zacchaeus could never have had an audience with Christ if he did not climb the sycamore tree that fateful day.

From both illustrations given, SHAME and FEAR stood tall amongst other impediments which could have stopped the woman with the issue of blood and Zacchaeus but they couldn't because the subjects (Zacchaeus and the woman with the issue of blood) fixed their eyes on the opportunity which presented itself to them.

I will take a pause on biblical characters who utilized their opportunities judiciously to focus on you; I mean you.

I am sure you had seen job opportunities last year and you let them go because you felt inadequate for just jobs or opportunities.

But a new year is here with new opportunities to explore.

I applied for a job in the state ministry of education as an education officer, I was just one candidate out of thousands that applied for same or other positions.

Exams was conducted to sort out those with the necessary intellectual skills for Thier respective positions; I wrote the exams and guess what, I PASSED THE EXAM!

Before the exam, I used to sell myself short and after the exams, I realized I have more within me and more to offer to the society.

Opportunities abound in this new year; grab it with the boldness of a lion and with the drive of a hungry hyaena and watch the sky become your starting point.

This new year has a lot to offer, stay alert to see, recognise, pursue and utilise effectively the opportunities around you.

Shalom

BUILD WHILE WAITING

Do you remember young David Jesse in the Bible? The young rudy boy (as described in the Bible)? I bet you do

Do you still remember how he slaughtered Goliath and won the battle for Israel? I still bet you do

Now, hear this...

He did not just wake up one morning to become "David the slayer of Goliath", he trained (in the bush as a shepherd boy protecting and defending his flock from wicked animals) before becoming a mighty man of Valour.

He defeated his ego by tending to his father's flock in the bush, he defeated his fears by fighting off lions and bears when ever they attacked his flock, he found himself while waiting as a shepherd boy.

What about Joseph - the dreamer? The one so hated by his brothers to the extent they sold him out to foreigners(Egyptians); he became a slave serving his master as a housekeeper and personal assistant.

He later moved from serving his master to becoming a prisoner after which he became a prime minister in a foreign land (Egypt).

Here's the crux of this article:

David built while waiting (serving), likewise Joseph.

He gathered all the necessary skills he will need in life while a shepherd boy. Likewise Joseph, he learnt a lot while serving his master as a housekeeper and personal assistant.

Life is so full of uncertainties.
Sometimes we find ourselves in places or levels we have outgrown due to unpleasant and unexpected events but the truth is, don't loose sight of how great you are, how valuable and priceless you are because if you do, you might never overcome that temporal pain and shame that life has served.

Wherever you find yourself now, however demeaning or unpleasant it might be, don't stay idle, don't dwell in self pity, don't dwell in the bo***ge of mediocrity.

Stay humble, gather skills and experiences while serving (or waiting) where ever you find yourself.

Be courageous like David and Joseph, do no harbour doubts nor fears, trust in God and do the right thing.

IS JESUS YOUR RETIREMENT PLAN?

Most persons believe in rocking life to the fullest, living the way they please, doing and undoing things they fancy all during the days of their youthful Valour.

They chose not to know Christ nor seek him when they are young, they chose not to live for Christ but for themselves --- Remember thy creator in the days of thine youth.

Most Christians today are think and act like the prodigal son, they make Christ their retirement plan -- they genuinely acknowledge and follow Christ when they are old, weak and wrecked to the lowest term.

Never forget that there are times when Christ can be sought and found and there are times when he can not be found even when sought (i.e when death has come -- for there is no repentance in the grave).

Don't make Christ your retirement plan, RETIRE with Christ in you as the author and finisher of your faith.

Think about it

You Are Your Thoughts...

You are who you think you are,
You are what you think you are,

You are who you are because of who you think you are

You are what you are because of what you think you are

Your current life and situation is the product of your past thoughts and present thoughts.

KNOWLEDGE COMES AT A COST.

I was privileged to work in a company where meal tickets was shared for lunch and breakfast. As a new intern (hoping to become a staff someday), I worked with my immediate boss who was referred to as: General leader.
On one Sunday morning, I got the meal tickets on his behalf (From the office), I presented the tickets to him and he started sharing the them amongst the workers.
He counted out some tickets and handed them to me so I can give them to other workers not within his immediate reach.
Note: These workers have a representative they call Line leader. I handed the cards to the line leaders as was instructed by the general leader.
After a few seconds have passed, I saw one of them approaching the general leader, claiming I delivered incomplete tickets to him.
There was argument as we tried to settle the misunderstanding. After all was said and done, the general leader took from his own and gave one of the group leaders who claimed he had a shortage of one tickets
I suspected a few persons to be dubious but needed to be sure. One of the person I have been suspecting to be dubious is the same person that claimed he had a shortage of one ticket.
What morals are there to learn?

- Sacrifice what you can sacrifice and what is worth Sacrificing to know who or what people around you really are.

-Anyone who has not been tested and certified worthy is as dangerous as any other stranger on the street.

- To beat a dubious fellow, you have to know beyond their dubious ways.

Stay sane and blessed today and always

YOU OWE ME A LOT

Have you wondered why you approach people for help when in distress?

Have you given it a thought why people approach you for assistance when in distress?

The reason is because by natural law, we are meant for each other or for one another.

When you have the opportunity to help but refuse to do so, you have sinned against God who gave you the opportunity to help others and your fellow man.

It is your right to demand help or favour from those within your circle of influence because they are there for you and you are there for them too.

Imagine those who sought healing from Christ and did not receive it (when they know Christ can change their situation for good); how would you feel if you were in their shoe??

The reason why God put you in the midst of people is so that they can lend you a helping hand whiles they can and you likewise.

Don't be carried away when stingy and insensitive people say they owe you nothing; they owe you and I in as much as they live amongst us.

Anger management

Anger is highly contagious..

As humans who are in a trouble-stricken world, it is impossible not to get offended and not to get angry. Getting angry is an indication that you are a living being (not just existing), it shows you interact with people and the environment.

I want to state that getting angry is not the main problem here.

The main problem at hand is what we do when angry; yes! What do we do when angry??

Some of us break plates, shout, or cause trouble to others when angry??

Some of us spread the anger like a contagious virus??

Some of us inflict pain on ourselves or those nearby just because we are angry??

Do you stay quiet and restricted when angry??

What do you do??

What ever you do when angry can make or mar, it can create or change already existing narratives.

Ah, lest I forget, what does the Bible say about anger??

Ephesians 4:26-27
“Be angry, and do not sin” : do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.

Anger makes a person become an accessible tool of destruction in the hands of the devil; this is why we often have evil and wicked tendencies whenever we are angry.

It really is not easy to hold back the sudden rage and ungodly tendencies within us when anger sets in but trusting in the person, power and wisdom of the holy spirit will save us from a lot of undesired baggages.

God continue to help and bless us.

Shalom
