*TEXT: JUDGES 14:1-7*
*TOPIC: GOD'S PLAN THROUGH SAMSON*

*JUDGES 14:1-7 [NIV]*

1: Samson went down to Timnah and saw there a young Philistine woman.

2: When he returned, he said to his father and mother, “I have seen a Philistine woman in Timnah; now get her for me as my wife.”

3: His father and mother replied, “Isn’t there an acceptable woman among your relatives or among all our people? Must you go to the uncircumcised Philistines to get a wife?”

But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me. She’s the right one for me.”

4: (His parents did not know that this was from the Lord, who was seeking an occasion to confront the Philistines; for at that time they were ruling over Israel.)

5: Samson went down to Timnah together with his father and mother. As they approached the vineyards of Timnah, suddenly a young lion came roaring toward him.

6: The Spirit of the Lord came upon him in power so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat. But he told neither his father nor his mother what he had done.

7: Then he went down and talked with the woman, and he liked her.

*GOD'S PLAN THROUGH SAMSON*

Samson, now a young man, sought his parents' guidance in choosing a wife but insisted on marrying a philistine, Israel's enemy.

His parents questioned his choice, but God planed to use this situation to confront the philistines.

Samson demonstrated his unique nature when the Spirit empowered him to kill a lion.

This story illustrates that God can use any situation for His purpose, even when it seems wrong by human standards.

*QUESTION:* Have you seen God at work unexpectedly in your life?

*PRAYER:* I surrender my life to You, dear God, use me as You will, even when I don't understand, in Jesus' name. Amen.

10 Dangerous Midnight Prayers to Cancel Evil News and Negative Reports 🔥🔥

1. Prayer to cancel false reports (Psalm 34:13–14)
O Lord, arise and cancel every false report, bad news, and negative information released against me and my household, and let every word of darkness lose power tonight in the name of Jesus.

2. Prayer against manipulations through words (Proverbs 18:21)
Father, every manipulation, rumor, or spoken evil designed to bring confusion, loss, or shame into my life, be neutralized by fire and rendered powerless in the name of Jesus.

3. Prayer to silence agents of bad news (Psalm 64:2)
Lord Jesus, every agent, messenger, or source assigned to convey evil tidings, calamities, or misfortune to me, be exposed, silenced, and rendered ineffective in the name of Jesus.

6. Prayer against prophetic falsehoods (1 Corinthians 14:29)
Lord Jesus, every false prophecy, declaration, or announcement spoken to harm my destiny or future, be nullified permanently in the name of Jesus.

7. Prayer to reverse evil expectations (Isaiah 54:17)
O Lord, every evil expectation, negative prediction, or forecast assigned over my life, be reversed by divine intervention and replaced with goodness and success in the name of Jesus.

8. Prayer to neutralize household and generational manipulations (Micah 5:12)
Father, every family, ancestral, or household manipulation contributing to evil news or negative reports, be cancelled permanently by fire in the name of Jesus.

9. Prayer against repeating patterns of bad news (Deuteronomy 28:13)
Lord Jesus, every repeated cycle of negative reports, false alarms, or discouragement, be terminated tonight as I step into peace, favor, and breakthrough in the name of Jesus.

10. Prayer to secure future from bad reports (Psalm 23:1)
O Lord, secure my life, plans, and future from every evil report, slander, and negative tidings as I enter this new season, and let divine protection and favor guide every communication concerning me in the name of Jesus.

*ECWA Elects General Secretary and Vice President at 73rd General Council Meeting*

The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) during the ongoing General Church Council has successfully conducted elections for the offices of General Secretary and Vice President, held at the ECWA International Conference Center in Jos, Plateau State.
Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe was re-elected the ECWA General Secretary, while, Rev. Chidi Joseph Nmadubuko was elected ECWA Vice President and Rev. Dr. Ezekiel Babatunde Omidiji was elected as the new Trustee representing Zone 9
The Council, which brings together church leaders, delegates, and representatives from all ECWA districts and zones across Nigeria and beyond, serves as the highest decision-making body of the denomination. This year’s gathering, which began with opening prayers and a review of the church’s mission progress, featured elections as a key item on the agenda.
General Secretary Re-elected for Second Term
In a vote of confidence in his leadership, Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe was re-elected as ECWA General Secretary for a second term.
His re-election reflects the Council’s approval of his stewardship during his first tenure, during which he oversaw administrative reforms and expanded outreach initiatives. Dr. Asheshe will continue to serve as the chief administrative officer of the church.
New Vice President Emerges
The race for the Vice President position was conducted in a peaceful and orderly environment. Rev. Chidi Joseph Nmadubuko emerged victorious after securing 220 votes.
Rev. Nmadubuko brings a wealth of pastoral and leadership experience to the role, and will work closely with the ECWA President in providing strategic direction for the church.
Trustee Election for Zone 9
In another development, Rev. Dr. Ezekiel Babatunde Omidiji was returned elected as Trustee for Zone 9. His re-election ensures continuity in the management of ECWA’s trust properties and legal matters within the zone.
Prayer and Dedication
The atmosphere at the Conference Center was one of solemnity and gratitude. Delegates offered prayers for the newly elected officers, asking for divine wisdom, strength, and unity as they lead ECWA in the coming years.
We pray that God grants the General Secretary and the new Vice President wisdom to lead ECWA for His glory. Amen.
