ποΈ *COMMENTARY*
A hammer is a fabricated hard iron with a handle used to destroy or break hard objects into pieces. It is used to drive nails into wood and walls and other objects. A hammer is also a force that is used to crush stones and do damage.
There are men described as stubborn, arrogant, and hardened. Stony-hearted, very wicked and blood-sucking. One who does not shift ground whenever he decides to do evil. Nothing perturbs him. He has the heart of a defiant monster of the highest calibre. People with such descriptions are feared and most times avoided by many. No threat moves them. They are unrepentant and fearless.
The word of God is likened to a hammer when it strikes Hardened Criminals, Prostitutes, Wicked Men and Women, 419ners, Bad Politicians, Occultic Pastors, Secret Society Men and Women, Drug Abusers, Human Traffickers, Diabolical, Cheats, Envious and Jealous in the society, undoubted change occurs in such lives. This change is always radical and total. The word of God comes into the hearts of men through hearing, the Holy Spirit uses the force of the word to crush into pieces that stony hearts and lives are transformed. The Lord boasted with his word. He describes it as fire and like a hammer that breaks a rock to pieces.
There are no conditions of a man's heart that the word of God cannot effectively minister to. It does not only crush or deliver but also heals. It brings salvation to the most condemned criminal. It regenerates lost souls and does redemptive work. The word of God has power to save you and also fight for you.
