๐๐๐๐!
โซ๏ธThree nationsโAmmon, Moab, and Mount Seirโcame out against Judah and made ready to attack her.
โซ๏ธThe Bible tells us that Jehoshaphat, the King of Judah at the time prayed to God and said,
โโญ๏ธ๐โOh God, you gave us this land, and now these people want to take it from us and drive us out of itโ (2 Chronicles 20:6-11).
โซ๏ธYou see, just because God gave you something, doesnโt mean the devil will not try to take it away from you.
โซ๏ธSatan tried through Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir to take from the children of Judah the land God had given them.
โซ๏ธBut King Jehoshaphat was wise.
โซ๏ธHe gathered all Judah together to seek the Lord in prayer and fasting.
โซ๏ธWhen they prayed, God spoke to them through Jahaziel, one of the sons of the prophets.
โซ๏ธ2 Chronicles 20:14-19:
โโญ๏ธ๐โThen upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation; And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but Godโs. To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you. And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord. And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high.โ
โซ๏ธGod gave Jehoshaphat and the children of Israel the exact location of their enemiesโ camp, and also gave him a strategy to defeat them:
โซ๏ธ2 Chronicles 20:21:
โโญ๏ธ๐โAnd when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.โ
โซ๏ธHave you ever heard of an army going to war and they put singers at the forefront?
โซ๏ธIt sounds stupid, but thatโs the strategy God gave Jehoshaphat and thatโs exactly what he did.
โซ๏ธBefore going out against the enemy, he put singers in front of the army, and they marched towards their enemiesโ position, singing, โPraise the Lord, for His mercy endureth forever!โ
โซ๏ธ2 Chronicles 20:22 :
โโญ๏ธ๐โWhen they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.โ
โซ๏ธAs the singers went ahead of the army singing and praising God, the Lord set ambushments against the enemy, and they drew their swords on each other and fought and killed one another.
โซ๏ธBy the time Israelโs army got to their enemiesโ camp, they were all dead! They didnโt have to lift a finger in battle, much less shed a drop of blood to defeat this mighty army that came out to destroy them.
โซ๏ธWhen trouble strikes, like Jehoshaphat, you can โput the singers in frontโ and expect to have the same result.
โซ๏ธAt such times, donโt wait until you feel like singing before you sing.
โซ๏ธMake a song of praise and sing, whether you feel like it or not, whether youโre happy or not.
โซ๏ธWhen the children of Israel discovered they were about to be attacked by the allied forces of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, it was far from a happy celebration.
โซ๏ธAll they were happy about as they marched out to face this formidable enemy was that God had spoken to them and told them to praise Him.
โซ๏ธThey did, and God gave them the victory.
โ
Hallelujah!!!
