Aba South Conference OYiM Department to Hold Special Sabbath, Launch Outreach to Umunneisii and Umuojioma community.
The One Year in Mission (OYiM) Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Aba South Conference, will celebrate its Special Sabbath tomorrow, May 23, 2026, with an outreach focus on the Umunneisii and Umuojioma communities. The program will be led by Director Pr. MC Nwosu.
As part of the event, delegates representing various churches across the conference will carry out a coordinated fund promotion to support outreach efforts in the two communities.
OYiM, or One Year in Mission, is a global initiative of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that invites young adults aged 18 and above to dedicate a full year to full-time volunteer mission work. The program trains participants for service in urban and unreached areas, with an emphasis on urban evangelism, holistic community impact, and leadership development.
Key aspects include health seminars, charity work, discipleship, cross-cultural missions training, and Bible study teaching, all aimed at deepening spiritual growth while addressing practical needs. Teams also share the church’s “Three Angels’ Messages” as part of their outreach.
Tomorrow’s Special Sabbath is expected to rally support and mobilize members around the department’s mission to equip young people for active, long-term service in underserved areas.
