"Invest in God—you will never regret it."

Fr. Jerry reminds us that when we invest our time, faith, and trust in God, it is never wasted. What we give to Him returns to us as peace, guidance, and lasting joy that we will never regret.

THE DEATH OF THE THREE (3) POPES

There is something deeply moving—almost poetic—about the passing of these three shepherds of the Church. Each of them returned to the Lord within sacred seasons of the liturgical calendar, moments when the Church contemplates the greatest mysteries of faith: life, death, and resurrection.

• Pope John Paul II
Died within the Octave of Easter 2005
(April 2, 2005 — Saturday of the Easter Octave)
His passing came as the Church rejoiced in the Resurrection—a fitting farewell for a Pope who tirelessly proclaimed, “Do not be afraid.” Even in death, he pointed the world to the Risen Christ.

• Pope Benedict XVI
Died within the Octave of Christmas 2022
(December 31, 2022 — 7th day of the Christmas Octave)
He departed during the celebration of the Word made Flesh. A theologian to the end, his life and death reflected a quiet surrender to the God he spent his life studying and serving.

• Pope Francis
Died within the Octave of Easter 2025
(April 21, 2025 — Monday of the Easter Octave)
A shepherd of mercy, he returned to God in the light of Easter—a powerful reminder that compassion, humility, and love endure beyond death.

Three Popes. Three sacred seasons. One enduring message:
In Christ, death is never the end—but the doorway to eternal life.

I found myself reflecting on the image of my late Bishop, Ezeonyia, and my present Bishop, Echema. And a quiet truth emerged: we all enter the world in the same way, and we depart in much the same way. What sets us apart is not the beginning or the end, but what we make of the time in between.

That little dash between the dates—1988 – …—holds the whole story. It is within that brief line that a life is either well lived or poorly spent. The dash, though small, carries the weight of eternity.
