And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Acts 12:3)

If you are a minister of the gospel this is for you.

There is a monster you must conquer.

It is the monster of PLEASING PEOPLE.

Herod was a monster.

He succeeded in executing James and discovered that it pleased the Jews.

And because it pleased the Jews he proceeded to take Peter.

Well, I don't really know why he took James but his reason for taking Peter was clear.

He took Peter because taking James pleased the Jews but he did not succeed this time.

Pleasing people is a trap for failure.

You must beware of ovation.

People's ovation can lead you to delusion.

Pleasing people can be a good motivation,

but it can also be very misleading if not scrutinised.

Watch this:

Stop preaching what pleases the people.

Stop doing meeting's that pleases the people.

Stop taking decisions that pleases the people.

Stop accepting meetings to please the people.

** If God is not in it the people you want to please will leave you.

** If you must enjoy ease in ministry stop pleasing people.

** You may impress people and depress your life and ministry.

Some years ago somebody brought me a car and asked me to pay him in installments,

and I asked him why because I did not ask for it and he said because of my level in ministry.

That he felt I should not be trekking and jumping buses at my level and I answered him and said

"I don't know my level and the day I get to the level of getting a car my caller will provide it"

My reply was due to the fact that I didn't even have the money for the first payment and I didn't want to

put my life and ministry under stress.

Today, we recieve cars as gifts.

Please, conquer the monster of pleasing people.

I don't really like to speak to ministers except I am led and I feel so led to do this for someone now.
