BRIEF PROFILE OF KEYNOTE SPEAKER- PROF (MRS) AMENAWO I. OFFIONG
Prof Mrs) Amenawo I. Offiong is a Professor of Finance in the Department of Banking and Finance in the University of Calabar, Nigeria.
She joined the services of the University of Calabar in 2000 as a Graduate Assistant, rose through the ranks and was promoted to the
rank of a Professor in 2020.
She received her B.Sc. (Hons) degree in
Banking and Finance, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Finance from the University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria in the years 1998, 2003 and 2006 respectively. She is a seasoned scholar and astute administrator with research and teaching experiences in the field of finance. Her primary research interest is in the area of corporate finance. She has provided academic leadership spread across the various areas in Management Sciences.
Prof. (Mrs) Offiong has held various responsibilities within and outside the University community including ;Acting Dean, Faculty of
Management Sciences, Acting Head, Department of Banking and Finance amongst others.
Prof. (Mrs) Offiong has over thirty publications in reputable academic journals. She has successfully supervised and co-supervised about fifteen doctoral dissertations, twelve Masters of Science theses and numerous MBA and PGDM projects in the University of Calabar. She is a regular participant in many academic fora and conferences. She has presented papers in core areas of finance in both local and international conferences. She serves as reviewer to many academic journals home and abroad.

Prof. (Mrs) Offiong has been
External Examiner/ Assessor in Covenant University, University of Uyo and Micheal Okpara University Umudike . She is a member of many professional associations in the field of finance and management .
She is married to her heart throb Prof Offiong Efanga Offiong and blessed with 3 children. She became an active member of The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Hope Waddell Parish after marriage. As a strong member of the evangelism committee of the church she serves
in the prison outreach ministry. She is equally a member of Women Guild. She has chaired so many committees in the church including Harvest , Thanks giving, Mothering and Mother hood amongst others. She is a Patron of the Boys and Girls Brigade of the church.
It is a great honour to introduce to us Prof. Amenawo Offiong as the keynote speaker during our 2026 International Women’s Guild Conference at City of Light, Yakurr, Cross River State.
