IT’S ABOUT FOLLOWING HIS WORD
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13).

In yielding to the Holy Spirit, you must yield to His Word. To yield isn’t merely a physical act, like dropping your shoulders or curling up in submission. It goes beyond outward behaviour. Even if you physically appear submissive, it’s possible to still be rebellious on the inside. Yielding comes from the heart.

Therefore, yielding to the Lord means to give yourself to what He tells you to do. It’s about following His Word. You aren’t truly yielded to Him if you don’t follow His Word, because He’s one with the Word. If you truly desire to understand and walk in God's perfect will consistently, as well as grasp His judgments and perspectives on all matters of life, it's essential to study and meditate on the Scriptures and follow everything the Word of God says.

Allow the Word of God to live through you and gain mastery over your thinking. The more you allow the Word of God to dominate your mind, your decisions, your perspectives, and the way you see things, the more the Holy Spirit controls your life. He leads you through His Word. There’re so many voices in the world, but the Lord Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27).

Also, Isaiah 30:21 says, “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it...." How can you judge the voice that you hear? Only through your knowledge of God’s Word can you discern and follow His leading. So, immerse yourself in the Word and allow it to shape every area of your life.

PRAYER
Dear Father, your Word dominates my thoughts, decisions, actions, and shapes my life in alignment with your divine will. My heart is continually opened to your Word, to instruct and guide me in the path of your perfect will, guiding me into all truth, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

EXERCISE YOUR AUTHORITY IN CHRIST
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).

The Lord Jesus gave us power and authority, and you don’t need any special faith to exercise that authority. You don’t need to 'work up' faith to exercise your dominion in Christ. Therefore, simply take your place in Christ and “…Resist the devil, and he will flee...” (James 4:7).

Perhaps there have been recurrent cases of sickness or other kinds of challenges with members of your family; exercise your authority! Declare, “Satan, I command you to stop your manoeuvres and operations in my home and amongst my family members, in the Name of Jesus!" Every demon will bow and leave.

Sometimes, in some homes, there could be so much anger—everyone seems to be on edge—tension fills the air and no one knows why. You that are born again in that home should exercise authority over the demon of anger. Find a quiet place to pray, and then say, “You spirit of anger, get out of this home.” You don’t need to shout or jump around; just speak with authority and command the devil to leave.

In Mark 16:17, the Lord Jesus said, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils.…” In Matthew 10:8 He said, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils...." Once you perceive or encounter situations that are caused or influenced by devils, don’t negotiate; exercise the authority that Christ has given you.

Take for example you were in a place where a child suddenly started convulsing or experiencing a bout of seizures; cast the devil out and command it to return no more. Then, declare wholeness and perfection for that child. Jesus gave us absolute dominion over demons and the powers of darkness; therefore, cast them out in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the authority you have given me in Christ Jesus. I declare that I walk in dominion, subduing every work of the enemy. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I exercise authority over every negative circumstance and demonic influence in my life, my home, and my environment. I thank you for the victory that is mine through Christ Jesus, and I live every day in the boldness of this authority, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

OUT OF THE JURISDICTION OF DARKNESS
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son (Colossians 1:13).

Another vital blessing of our salvation in Christ Jesus is deliverance from the jurisdiction of darkness. Recall what we said salvation is in one of our previous studies: deliverance, wholeness, and preservation. The first step was the removal of sin. Jesus took away your sins and delivered you from the dominion of darkness. You’re now separated from the influence and control of darkness.

Ephesians 1:21 says you’re seated with Christ in heavenly places, “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.” Can you see why, having received salvation, you don’t need another deliverance from Satan? You’re superior to Satan.

Jesus told us to cast out demons. Mark 16:17 says, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues.” In Luke 10:19, He said, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” He’s given you control, authority and dominion to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. Hallelujah!

Never be afraid of demons; they’re under your feet. The Bible says God has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6). You live in the Kingdom of His Love-Son where life and immortality reigns; and it’s a Kingdom of light. Praise God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for translating me into the Kingdom of your dear Son, Jesus Christ. Satan has no authority over me, for I live in the glorious Kingdom of light. I walk in victory, free from the control of darkness, and I reign in life through Christ. Amen.

SALVATION GAVE YOU POWER OVER SIN
To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins (Luke 1:77).

In Luke 1:76-77, we see a powerful revelation about salvation. It says, “And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins.” The first thing about salvation is remission or the removal of sin. This is so important because without this understanding, many live a life that doesn’t reflect the true change salvation brings.

In Acts 3:25-26, the Apostle Peter addressed the Jewish congregation, reminding them of God's promise to their ancestors. He declared that they were the children of the prophets and of the covenant made with their forefathers. Peter explained, "Unto you first God, having raised up His Son Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities" (Acts 3:26).

This verse reveals another crucial aspect of salvation: the blessing to be turned away from sin. God blessed us by sending Jesus to turn us away from our iniquities. You couldn’t do it by yourself. You might have struggled with sin, but when you received salvation, you received power over sin.

In Luke 24:46-47, Jesus made it clear that repentance and the remission of sins should be preached in His Name among all nations, starting from Jerusalem: “...Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” Now you can understand why Paul cried out in Acts 13:38-39, “Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.”

This is a truth that many people need to understand. Sin is no longer a factor; its power to lord it over you has been removed. In Christ, you’ve been made sin-free. It helps you further understand why the Bible says in Romans 6:14, “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I walk in the liberty of your grace, knowing that sin has no dominion over me. Through the sacrifice of Jesus, I have been made righteous, justified, and sanctified. I live in the consciousness of this victory, free from guilt, walking in the fullness of the blessings of salvation, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

SHINE BRILLIANTLY LIKE THE FIRMAMENT
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever (Daniel 12:3).

Our theme verse isn't talking about every Christian; it is specifically referring to those who win souls, those who turn many to righteousness. These are the ones who shine like the brightness of the firmament. They minister like the heavens: Their voice, like the heavens, is being heard in every nation and in every language.

The Bible says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world...” (Psalm 19:1-4). You can’t shine like the brightness of the heavens if you don't function like the heavens.

Every Christian has a responsibility to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth, just like the Lord instructed in Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15. This is the way to shine as the brightness of the firmament. The Bible says, "...he that winneth souls is wise" (Proverbs 11:30).

As we actively participate in sending the Gospel across borders, in all languages, into the nations of the earth, we’re functioning like the heavens—declaring the glory of God to all. One day, the Lord Jesus Christ will return, and He will honour us for preaching the Gospel to every man, in every nation, in all known languages. Think about it. You’ve been given the privilege to shine brightly, not just for a moment, but forever and ever. Praise God forevermore!

Spread the Gospel beyond your borders. Rise to this call and get involved in this great work because the Lord’s return is imminent. Every day, do more for the spread of the Gospel. Together, let’s reach beyond our borders and regions. Let’s ensure that our voices echo like the heavens, declaring God's glory across the earth. This is our responsibility!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege of being a bearer of your glorious Gospel. As I win souls and turn many to righteousness, I shine like the brightness of the heavens. Thank you for empowering me to declare your glory in every language, to every nation, as we anticipate with excitement your glorious return, when you honour us for this great work. Thank you for the grace to do more in spreading the Gospel to the ends of the earth, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

JESUS HAS THE KEYS OF HELL AND DEATH
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death (Revelation 1:18).

One of the very important points we referenced in our previous study is that Jesus defeated Satan in hell, not when He was on the Cross. The whole subject of crucifixion was an entire process, describing Christ’s arrest, death and burial. His victory on the Cross was yielding Himself in obedience, even unto death, whereas Adam disobeyed God: “For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous” (Romans 5:19).

Adam didn’t yield himself in obedience to God’s will, but Jesus did. That’s why the Bible says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:9), because He was obedient unto death—the death on the Cross. But as earlier stated, that wasn’t where He defeated Satan. If He had defeated Satan on the Cross, there wouldn’t have been the need for Him to descend to hell.

But in hell, He met Satan, defeated him, and collected from him the keys of hell and death. What does this tell you about Satan? He has no power to kill anyone; otherwise, he would have killed everyone. Jesus paralyzed him and gave us dominion over him. He frustrated the one that had the power of death, that is, the devil: “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Hebrews 2:14-15).

Don’t be afraid of the devil. If he shows up in your room and says, “I’m going to kill you”; jeer at him and say, “Nonsense.” You don’t need to argue with him. He’s a weak and defeated enemy. Glory to God! Understand that when Jesus died, you died in Him, for you were in Him. When He was buried, you were also buried, in Him. When He went to hell, you were in Him. Therefore, when He defeated Satan and the demons of darkness in hell, you were in Him. That means you defeated Satan and his cohorts in hell. It’s a present-day fact. Blessed be God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the victory I have in Christ Jesus in whom I’ve conquered death, hell, and the grave. I live triumphantly over the elements of this world because of the authority and dominion Christ has given me over the forces of darkness. Thank you for this glorious reality, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

HIS VICTORY OVER SATAN IN HELL
And the hostile princes and rulers He shook off from Himself, and boldly displayed them as His conquests, when by the Cross He triumphed over them (Colossians 2:15 WNT).

Christ’s victory on the Cross and in Hell wasn’t for Himself; it was for us. When He was crucified on the Cross, He took our place on that Cross. That means when He was crucified, you were crucified. When He died, you died. When they took His body off of the Cross and buried Him in the grave, you were buried in the grave.

Then the Bible says He went to hell; He was taken to hell because every sinner who died was taken to hell. So when Jesus died, He went to hell as a prisoner because He had taken our place of sin. The Bible says He was made sin, who knew no sin: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Therefore, on account of our sins, Jesus went to hell and consummated His victory over sin, Satan and the demons of darkness in hell. He defeated them in their domain. Recall what the Bible says in Ephesians 4:9, “Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?” It wasn’t possible for anyone who went to hell to come out of hell; but not Jesus. In hell, Satan and all the demons of darkness converged on Jesus; they grappled with Him, and it was in hell that Jesus defeated Satan.

Everyone in hell had to submit and bow to Satan, but Satan couldn’t get Jesus to bow. The Bible pictures how the demons mounted on Jesus and tried to force Him to bow to Satan. But Jesus threw off from Himself powers; He threw off principalities; He disarmed the powers and authorities of darkness and made a public spectacle of them. He triumphed over them in that great combat in hell. "And the hostile princes and rulers He shook off from Himself, and boldly displayed them as His conquests, when by the Cross He triumphed over them" (Colossians 2:15 WNT).

All the demons of darkness saw Jesus defeat Satan and collect the keys of hell and death from him. We’ll learn more in our next study. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the victory that Christ wrought for me over Satan and the forces of darkness. His triumph over sin, death and hell is my triumph. I walk in the light of this victory, ruling over circumstances, principalities and powers of darkness. I live in the dominion and righteousness of Christ. I’m more than a conqueror. Hallelujah!
