✝️ BEC Home Mass | St Gabriel South
📅 14th August 2026
🕊️ Homily Reflection by Fr George Harrison

Our Home Mass at St Gabriel South was a beautiful reminder that true joy and peace come from being united with God.

Fr George reminded us that one of the greatest Christian virtues is joy. Even in moments of hurt, difficulty or when forgiveness is not easy, we can find peace when we place our trust in God.

The Responsorial Psalm beautifully proclaimed: “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” Through our Baptism, we have received new life in Christ, and when we continue to draw from Him, His peace and joy become visible through the way we live.

We are called to put others before ourselves, to remember our neighbors and to build loving relationships within our homes by being attentive to one another’s needs. Like Mother Teresa, we are called to serve with joy, and like St Maximilian Kolbe, to recognise the beauty of putting another person before ourselves.

Above all, Jesus remains our greatest example — giving Himself completely out of love.

May we carry this simple mission with us:

Be the joy of the Gospel to everyone we meet.
Trust God. Choose peace. Put others first.
Let our lives show that Jesus is truly present among us.

✝️ BEC Home Mass | St Faustina
🗓️ 12th August 2026
📖 Gospel: Matthew 18:15–20
🕊️ Homily Reflection by Fr George Harrison

Father reminded us that being Church is not about the size of the crowd, but about the quality of our relationships and how we journey together in faith.

When relationships are broken or someone drifts away, we are called not to give up, but to keep reaching out with patience, mercy and forgiveness. Even in our differences, we remain united in Christ.

Jesus shows us that there is always an opportunity to return. As a BEC community, may we continue to pray, reach out and build relationships, especially with those who may be hurting or have moved away, so that no one feels forgotten.

And even when we gather in small numbers, Christ is present among us. ❤️

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”

📖 Gospel: Matthew 16:24–28
🕊️ Homily Reflection by Fr George Harrison

“If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me.” — Matthew 16:24

For Christians, the Cross is more than a symbol. For centuries, we have looked to the Cross to understand the depth of Christ’s love — a love that gives completely.

Fr George reminded us of what makes the Cross so profound. Jesus’ body hung upon it, wounded for us, and when His side was pierced, blood and water flowed out. This is why on Good Friday we come forward to kiss and venerate the Cross — as an expression of love and gratitude for the sacrifice of Christ.

Throughout the history of Christianity, many saints and faithful Christians have laid down their lives for Christ and His Church. Their sacrifice remains a powerful sign of faith, courage and love.

But carrying our cross does not always mean doing something extraordinary.

Sometimes, it simply begins with showing up. ❤️

Showing up for our BEC.
Being present to one another.
Making time for our community.
Supporting someone who needs us.
Walking together in faith.

Our presence itself can become an act of love.

May we have the courage to take up our cross and follow Jesus, not only in words, but through the way we love, serve and remain present to one another.

🙏 Lord, teach us to embrace the Cross, to love as You loved, and to follow You faithfully each day.

On this Feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe, we are reminded of a man who lived a life of courage, sacrifice and love. He chose to serve others.

St Maria Goretti BEC Home Mass🙏
6 August 2026

“Good prayer begins with deep listening.”

Reflecting on the Canaanite woman who persistently called out to Jesus, Fr George reminded us that prayer is more than speaking, asking or repeating words. Prayer also means becoming still enough to listen.

The woman cried out to Jesus, yet at first there seemed to be no answer. Still, she did not walk away. She remained, listened, knelt before Him and continued to trust. Through her perseverance, her faith was revealed.

Sometimes, we too pray and wonder why the answer has not come. We become impatient and want God to answer now. But God invites us into a time of grace — to wait, listen, walk with Him and trust.

Grace is also found in the time we give one another: sitting with our parents and truly listening, making time for our families, stepping away from distractions and simply being present.

God’s answer may not always be the answer we expect. Sometimes He closes one door and opens another. But when we give Him time, we learn to trust His wisdom.

Like the Canaanite woman, may we have the faith to remain at the feet of Jesus and say:

🙏 “Lord, I will not turn away. I know You have the answer. I trust in You.”

May we never give up when prayer seems unanswered, but continue asking, knocking, listening and trusting.

✨ In His time, He makes all things beautiful.
