As Pope Francis often reminded the Church, grandparents and the elderly are not simply recipients of care - they are “a treasure” who help keep faith alive across generations.

As we journey together as one parish family, we warmly invite all grandparents and elderly parishioners to join us for our Hi-Tea for Gems as we celebrate their invaluable presence, foster new friendships, and share an afternoon of fellowship and joy.

📅 Date: 18 July
🕝 Time: 2.30pm – 5.30pm

We look forward to welcoming you and celebrating the precious gift you are to our parish community.

Echoing the call of Pope Leo XIV for Christ-centred communities where all can grow in faith without fear, the Prison Ministry and Catechists of St. Jude’s Church Rawang were privileged to host a Personal Safety for Teenagers talk by Mr. Raymond NC Jagan, a retired JKM officer with extensive experience in child protection.

We explored important topics such as personal boundaries and consent, Malaysian laws that protect minors, the consequences of everyday choices, and the importance of building healthy, respectful relationships.

The talk empowered our young people to make wise decisions, recognise their worth, and better understand how to keep themselves and others safe - both online and in everyday life.

CHOIR

Sing. Serve. Welcome.

Music has a special way of touching hearts, lifting spirits, and bringing the community together in prayer. The Choir plays an important role in the life of the Church by helping the faithful enter more deeply into the celebration of the Mass and encounter God through song.

As members of the Choir, we do not simply sing songs - we offer our voices as a gift of service. Through music, we help create an atmosphere of prayer, joy, and belonging where everyone feels welcomed and connected.

What you can do:
• Sing hymns and responses during Mass
 • Use your musical gifts by playing an instrument
 • Help lead the congregation in worship and prayer
 • Serve during special celebrations, feasts, and parish events
 • Prepare and grow together as a faith-filled music ministry

Who can join:
Anyone who loves music and desires to serve is welcome. Whether you are an experienced singer, play an instrument, or simply have a willingness to learn, there is a place for you in the Choir.

You don’t need to have a perfect voice - what matters is a heart willing to serve and praise God.

LECTORS

Be the Voice That Welcomes the Word

In every celebration of the Eucharist, God speaks to His people through the proclamation of Scripture. A Lector has the beautiful responsibility of becoming an instrument through whom the Word of God is shared with the community.

In our campaign of being a Welcoming Church, every voice matters. As a Lector, you help bring Scripture to life - not simply by reading words from a book, but by proclaiming God’s message with faith, understanding, and reverence. Through your preparation and service, you invite others to listen, reflect, and encounter God’s love.

Being a Lector is an opportunity to deepen your own relationship with Scripture while helping others hear the hope, wisdom, and encouragement found in God’s Word. Each reading proclaimed is an invitation for hearts to be opened and lives to be transformed.

What you can do:
• Proclaim the First and Second Readings at Mass and liturgical celebrations
 • Understand the meaning and message of God’s Word
 • Serve with reverence, confidence, and humility
 • Participate in training and formation to grow as a minister of the Word

Who can join:
Anyone who:
 • Has a desire to serve God and the Church
 • Is willing to grow in faith and knowledge of Scripture
 • Is committed to preparing and proclaiming the Word with care
 • Wants to share God’s message with the parish community

No special experience is required - only a willing heart, a love for God’s Word, and the desire to serve.
Step forward. Let God speak through you.

Join the Lector Ministry and become a voice that shares His Word with love, faith, and purpose.
