This retreat was a postponed date from last year, due to monsoon.
Being a 'Lenten' retreat, participants could better reflect on the spirituality of Lent through their sharing with one another, bringing comfort in solidarity as a Pauline family. Reflecting on the Way of the Cross as a Lent tradition, we are reminded that Christ too, experienced grief, fear, sorrow and suffering. As we look forward to Easter, we are assured that our Saviour walks with us throughout our days.

The Pauline family attended the celebration for World Day of Consecrated Life at Kinarut last night. Holy Mass was presided by His Grace Archbishop John Wong. Fellowship at the parish hall followed after.

Let us always pray for our priests, our religious and lay communities. May God guard and guide them in their missions.

Some APC members attended the Study Day, which is held for the first time, together with the FSP Sisters. The topic given by Friar Gerard ofm reminds attendees that our struggles are a way of growth and reconciling our relationship with God and others.

Today we celebrate the feast of the Conversion of St. Paul, one of the main feasts for the Pauline family. And what joy it is to have the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu, Msgr. Nicholas Stephen, who is also the spiritual director for our archdiocesan SOCCOM.

Today's feast day commemorates St. Paul, formerly Saul, turning away from being a prosecutor of early Christians to a zealous Christian evangeliser. Happy feast day to the Pauline family and collaborators!

Sharing some pictures from the Christmas & New Year gathering last Saturday (Jan 3) at the Pauline Media Centre KK. We began with Adoration at the chapel , followed by singing of Christmas carols, lunch, some games and gift exchange.

It was a joy-filled gathering with the Sisters, fellow APC members, IMSA and our collaborators. Thank you for 2025 and for the wonderful fellowship! Looking forward to many more fruitful missions in 2026.

The Pauline Family of Sabah gathered last Wednesday to celebrate Founder's Day and to witness the induction of two new APC members.

November 26 is the feast day of Blessed James Alberione, commemorated to celebrate his life and legacy of modern evangelisation through media. On the same day, the current APC members also renewed their pledge. This year, we are blessed to have Fr. Samy Torrefranca, SSP celebrate with us here in Kota Kinabalu. Thank you, Fr!

Some pictures from last month's local pilgrimage to places closest to the hearts of the Pauline Family Sabah.

The day started with a visit to the place where the Daughters of St. Paul (DSP) first took roots in Sabah in 1961. In 1971, all foreign missionaries were required to return to their home countries. The DSP convent then was bought not long after by the vicariate and now is the residence of our Emeritus Archbishop John Lee. Two APC pioneers, Emily Tongkul and Theresa Gumpodo shared their experiences of visiting the DSP house in their teenage years and how they felt the call to join the Pauline Family as Cooperators. The DSP returned to Sabah 18 years later in 1989 with three local Sisters - Sr. Rosalie Lojiu, the late Sr. Sylvia George and Sr. Anna Yap.

Next, the group headed to St. Michael Church Penampang - the home parish of the APC Sabah pioneers until 2014, when Penampang parish was divided into two, namely Inobong and Penampang. The pilgrimage trip, while short, was a meaningful one to the APC members especially the pioneers as it shows how much the parish has grown over the years.

The Sisters of the Daughters of St. Paul Sabah and the Pauline Cooperators Sabah had the wonderful privilege of attending the Eucharistic Celebration of the Ascension of the Lord in the presence of 14 SSP priests and 2 deacons.

Fr. Rey Reyes was the main celebrant for the Mass and concelebrated with his SSP brother-priests - Fr. Andy, Fr. Alan, Fr. Sebastian and Fr. Jobin. Fellowship followed after mass to welcome the SSP family for their short visit to Sabah and to celebrate the APC Sabah's 33rd anniversary.

The SSP is an abbreviation for the Society of St. Paul - a religious clerical congregation ministering their apostolate through means of social communications. Founded on 20th August 1914 in Alba, Italy, the SSP is the 'oldest brother of the Pauline family.

The SSPs were here in Sabah to climb Mt. Kinabalu.
