Meet Silas! Silas is one of our DTS students and a great friend. He has such a sweet heart! he’s always down to hang out and you can often find him playing with the community kids. He has a very extroverted personality and is a blast to be around.

He’s always down for connecting and some of my favorite memories are our long talks! He’s a great listener and is great at understanding people and accepting them for where they’re at. Also (fun fact) he gives the best hugs!

Where’s you favorite place to nap?
If I can nap there, it’s instantly my favorite place
What was your favorite family vacation?
When I was 7 years old, my parents took us to Disney Land. And made us all wear matching shirts. Yup. We were THAT family.

The first time I met Kaylee was three months ago. It has been pretty amazing getting to know her since then. She is a country girl which is so awesome! You know it’s Kaylee cooking in the kitchen if country music is playing. Every interaction I have had, she is always smiling. She is such a joy to be around and makes you feel better even if your at your lowest. She is always ready to step in if someone needs help and always finds a way to make you smile. I remember one time, the DTS students were on the roof in Ensenada, and Kaylee played country music and we both just started screaming the lyrics. It is one of my favorite memories on this journey. Thank you Kaylee for being an amazing person and a great friend.

Si pasaras un día viendo películas ¿lo consideraría un día perdido?
- No, normalmente lo hago después de navidad o Año Nuevo haha

¿Cuál es tu lugar favorito para tomar una siesta?
-En mi casa que está cerca de la playa 👌🏽

¿Que es algo que crees que todos deberían hacer?
-Conocer a Jesús

Cuando tengas 90, ¿Qué será lo más importante?
-La satisfacción de saber que mi familia sirve a Dios

Obed aporta mucha vida y energía al equipo. Siempre se divierte y hace sonreír a la gente sin importar lo que esté haciendo. Es extremadamente talentoso musicalmente, y comparte ese talento en nuestro equipo de adoración. También ha trabajado muy duro para aprender inglés y nos ha traducido muchas veces.
Otra área que Obed se ha dado a sí mismo en nuestro equipo es en los dramas. Ha hecho un trabajo maravilloso en cada skit en el que ha estado, y realmente trabaja para aprender bien sus partes.
Tiene un gran corazón para la gente, y no tiene miedo de compartirlo con ellos. Ya sea a través de la oración, las conversaciones, los actos o la música. ¡También es un barbero muy talentoso que muchos del equipo pueden agradecer por sus cortes de pelo! Por encima de todo, es un buen amigo y un hermano. ¡Amamos tanto a obed y no podríamos imaginar el equipo sin él!

When you are 90, what will be the most important thing?
-The satisfaction of knowing my family serves God

Obed brings so much life and energy to the team. He always has fun and makes people smile no matter what he’s doing. He’s extremely talented musically, and shares that talent in our worship team. He’s also worked so hard to learn English, and has translated for us many times!
Another area that Obed has given himself on our team is in dramas. He’s done a wonderful job in every skit he’s been in, and really works to learn his parts well.
He has a great heart for people, and isn’t afraid to share it with them. Wether that’s through prayer, conversations, acts, or music. He’s also a very talented barber that many on the team can thank for their haircuts! Above all, he is a good friend, and a brother. We love obed so much and couldn’t imagine the team without him!

Alec is a really fun and energetic guy! He cares greatly for his team members and always wants to make sure they’re doing okay. If he sees you looking down, he’ll ask what’s wrong and try to make you feel better. He pushed for a really long time to be the team therapist because he cares about the team so much. Alec also is a great speaker and gives very good sermons. He’s always willing to step up and give a sermon when no one else is. He is such a great guy and so much fun to be around!

¡Alec es un chico muy divertido y enérgico! Se preocupa mucho por los miembros de su equipo y siempre quiere asegurarse de que estén bien. Si te ve mirando hacia abajo, te preguntará qué te pasa y tratará de hacerte sentir mejor. Él presionó durante mucho tiempo para ser el terapeuta del equipo porque se preocupa mucho por el equipo. Alec también es un gran orador y da muy buenos sermones. Siempre está dispuesto a dar un paso adelante y dar un sermón cuando nadie más lo está. ¡Es un gran tipo y es muy divertido estar con él!

What’s something you think everyone should do? Look at both sides of the story

If you were given $500 to spend on anything, what would you buy? Clothes, jewelry, and gifts.

Annika Bush, the woman, the wonder! Although she is the shortest member of our team (other than 9 year old Amos) if she had to leave the hole would be massive. She is an extremely talented director and heads up our dramas with style and ease. Without her and her backpack of props our rehab ministries would grind to a halt. Not only that but she is also a legend on the ukulele. Her cover of Bubbly will forever be the best in my mind. Now all that being said, my favourite part of Annika is how much she cares about everyone on the team. She effortlessly builds deep relationships with all and is always there to support. She is one of those people who everyone just wants to be around all the time. She is a constant light on our team and we love her a lot. Annika thank you so much for being so cool. -Kate

Annika Bush, la mujer, ¡la maravilla! Aunque ella es el miembro más pequeño de nuestro equipo (aparte de Amos de 9 años), si tuviera que salir, el hoyo sería enorme. Ella es una directora extremadamente talentosa y dirige nuestros dramas con estilo y facilidad. Sin ella y su mochila de accesorios nuestros ministerios de rehabilitación se detendrían. No solo eso, sino que también es una leyenda en el ukelele. Su versión de Bubbly siempre será la mejor en mi mente. Meet ❤Adam Tardiff❤

What song is the last song to hit me In the chest...No song has ever hit me in the chest. I’m a ninja.

What takes a long time but is totally worth it...napping.

When I’m 90, what will be the most important....breathing.

Adam or (as the team calls him) Dadam, is Jeana's husband and another awesome leader! As you can tell through his answers in the questions we gave him, Adam is a goofball who loves having fun and loves Jesus more. He isn't afraid to be real with anyone and his love for others shines through that. Adam has a caring heart, so when he sees you having a hard time, or shying away from the group, he is sure to take you aside and make sure you're okay.

Well, we made it! After 12 hours of travel time, the Lord has blessed us with excitement and energy for the upcoming months. It was a bumpy road at times (both literally and figuratively) but with each team member letting the Lord lead their actions and feelings, everything turned out wonderfully! We are all pretty tuckered out now, and have an early day tomorrow full of intercession and ministry. Please continue to keep us in your prayers, for this energy and excitement for Jesus to be lasting and leading, and for people to be able to hear the name of Jesus!
One thing that a leader had said before we left that we found very encouraging was that
"The Lord is preparing the hearts before you meet them, He isn't sending you out to fail, He is sending you out fully equipped and backed up so that you can do what He has called you to do."
Alright that was very paraphrased, but you get the idea.

"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.' Amen."
