I just want want to take on the question "Can someone become a Pastor without attending a Bible School?"
This question looks simple and unwise to ask. But it is not simple and unwise. This question is Paramount important. Before one takes this question should think and take the following questions:
1. What makes one to become a Pastor?
2. Who is a Pastor?
3. What qualifies one to become a Pastor?
4. When should one become a Pastor?
5. Where should one become a Pastor?
To become a Pastor involves a lot. First, let me talk few things I know. One must consider of God's calling. When God calls someone, He doesn't call a Pastor. He calls a person to serve Him. When you are called, God gives you a particular ministry to serve Him well. Some are call to be Pastors, Apostles, Evangelists, Teachers and Prophets. Ephesians 4:11-12. The issue of Bible School is a critical issue whereby others have concluded that to become a Pastor doesn't need one to attend bible school. As far as I respect the work of the Holy Spirit reveals and teaches people mysteries, I am convinced that bible school is needed and is Paramount to assist one understand the content of the Word of God. For example, when Jesus chose the 12 disciples, He spent about three and half years training them. Jesus was training them through doing and the disciples were watching. For one to become effective, he must learn through observing and doing. Thereafter, Jesus commissioned them to do missions. In Bible School you are trained character, knowledge and skill to apply when you are in any of the above mentioned ministries. I have seen that in these days there are many people called Pastors, Prophets, Evangelists, teachers and apostles without attending bible school, there are also many people that are called Pastors without a church. Sometimes you wonder since they are not trained what do they teach the church. And it is surprising to see someone is called a pastor but has no Church, what is he pastoring.
