The Anglican Church in Malawi has reaffirmed its commitment to complement government efforts in social service delivery and infrastructure development across the country.
The Anglican Council in Malawi General Secretary, Canon Rev. Fr. MacDonald Njalam'mano Banda, made the pledge on Sunday after leading a Eucharistic mass at St. Maryβs Church in Biwi Parish.
Canon Njalam'mano Banda emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between the government and the private sector to serve citizens in both their spiritual and physical needs.
He said the church will continue establishing and expanding development initiatives in health and education to ensure people are served beyond their spiritual lives.
The Anglican Church is currently running companionship projects, financial literacy programs, and social service initiatives in education and health across its four dioceses: the Diocese of Northern Malawi, the Diocese of Lake Malawi, the Diocese of Upper Shire, and the Diocese of Southern Malawi.
