LAY SEMINAR HELD AT MATOLA CCAP, DOWA
Logos Ministries Training Department team conducted a two-day Lay Seminar at Matola CCAP Church under Nkhoma Synod from Wednesday 6th to Friday 8th May 2026. Matola CCAP Church is located near Mtiti Trading Centre, approximately 10km off the M1 Road in Traditional Authority (T.A.) Dzoole, Dowa District.
Attendance on the first day recorded 18 participants, while 21 participants attended on the final day. Due to variations in daily attendance, a total of 31 individuals benefited from the training during the seminar period.

Participants included various church leaders and ministry workers such as church elders, deacons, Sunday school teachers, and catechumen teachers. The seminar was specifically organised for leaders within the congregation to strengthen their biblical understanding and ministry effectiveness. The lay seminar focused on church leadership and Bible Doctrines.

Speaking during the training, the resident minister of Matola CCAP, Rev. P. Kachaje, thanked LOGOS for the timely training. He noted that the seminar would not only strengthen participants through sound biblical teaching and principles of church leadership

Mentorship Training in Blantyre

Following a successful mentorship training conducted in Chikwawa District, Logos Ministries also held a two-day mentorship training in Blantyre from Thursday, 7 May to Friday, 8 May 2026 at Limbe CCAP.
The training targeted 15 Logos trainees, some of whom are entrusted with facilitating Basic Theology Programme classes across the Southern Region.

Why Mentorship Training?

Mentorship training is essential for ministry trainees because it bridges the gap between theological knowledge and practical ministry application. While seminaries provide academic and theological instruction, mentorship offers “life-on-life” discipleship that nurtures holistic growth in character, competence, leadership, and spiritual maturity. Such training is vital for sustaining effective and impactful ministry.

The trainees expressed gratitude to Logos Ministries for providing the timely and practical training, noting that it will greatly assist them not only in facilitating Basic Theology classes but also in fulfilling their responsibilities as church leaders.

Logos Ministries Director, Manuel Kamnkhwani, together with Pastor E. Mwale, emphasized the importance of mentorship in Christian ministry. They assured participants that Logos Ministries will continue mentoring both trainees and students to equip them with the necessary knowledge, spiritual guidance, and practical skills to effectively address challenges affecting their lives as Christians and leaders.

Logos Ministries held a 2-day lay seminar at Chentcherere CCAP in Linthipe, Dedza. Logos Ministries conducted a 2-day mentorship training for its trainees from Tuesday, 5th May to Wednesday, 6th May 2026 at Kukhala Motel in Chikwawa District. This training brought together local facilitators for Logos Training in various centres across the Southern Region. The objectives of this training are to:
• Promote Scriptural familiarisation and deep understanding of core Christian doctrines rooted in Scripture and/or Reformed Tradition.
• Multiply servant-leaders who model Christ-like character and can fully represent organisational objectives.
• Enhance biblical exposition, sermon structure, and delivery techniques.
• Promote Christian character development and stewardship through faithful management of resources, time, and the welfare of the participants.
Logos Ministries views mentorship programs as essential for its staff and trainees, helping nurture spiritual growth, develop leadership skills, and ensure the long-term health and continuity of the church and ministry. These programs foster a culture of "iron sharpening iron," in which experienced leaders guide emerging leaders, creating a supportive network that strengthens the overall ministry.

LAY SEMINAR AT CHENTHERERE IN DEDZA
In its pursuit of providing sound theological training to the laity, Logos Ministries held a 2- day Lay seminar at Chentcherere CCAP in Linthipe, Dedza. The training, which brought together over 80 participants, including church leaders, was conducted from Wednesday, 22nd April to Friday, 24th April 2026. He noted that the seminar would not only strengthen participants through sound biblical teaching but also equip both laity and church leaders with principles of biblical leadership.
Rev. A. M. Nthara, Chaplain and Church Liaison Officer at LOGOS, emphasised the importance of sound theological knowledge and strong biblical foundations for effective Christian leadership and service.

The Training Department was graced with an opportunity to conduct a two-day Lay Leaders Seminar and Basic Theology Centre Assessment from Thursday, 19th March to Friday, 20th March 2026 at Muula CCAP Church of Nkhoma Synod in Dowa District.
The seminar aimed to train church leaders and assess the possibility of establishing a theology class. We reached 64 participants from 8 denominations, including CCAP Nkhoma Synod, Baptist, Last Church, New Jerusalem, Chisomo Cham’dalitso, and Beloved. The attendees comprised pastors, elders, deacons, clerks, and Sunday School teachers, among others.

Mzuzu was the last place to hold an Islam seminar organized by Logos Ministries. To conclude Christo Heiberg’s seminars, Logos conducted “Understanding Islam “in Mzuzu from Thursday, March 13th to Friday, March 14th, 2026. Similar to Lilongwe, the seminar attracted many Christians from various congregations in Mzuzu. Participants appreciated the seminar as timely and impactful, as it provided Christians with knowledge and teachings about Islam. This enabled them not only to defend their faith but also to minister effectively to Muslim communities. The seminar taught attendees about Islamic beliefs and how Christians can defend their faith. Christo Heiberg emphasized that understanding Islam is the first step to truly defending our faith and effectively ministering to Muslim communities.
On his part, the National Director of Logos Ministries, Mr. M. Kamnkhwani, thanked the facilitator for his teachings, which strengthen Christians with knowledge. He also expressed gratitude to all the participants for attending, as their presence made the event possible. The seminar was attended by 65 people from various congregations in Mzuzu and the surrounding areas.

The first 2026 Seminar titled " Understanding Islam" also took place at Josophat Mwale Theological Institute (JMTI) from Monday, March 9th to Tuesday, March 10th. After hosting this seminar at Logos Ministries' main campus in Lilongwe, Logos also held the same seminar at JMTI so that students would be equipped with knowledge of Islam. This is important to enable them not only to defend their Christian faith but also to minister to Muslim communities. Most of the students who were the primary target audience were very pleased with the seminar. Rev. Christo Heiberg from North America facilitated the seminar. The event brought together about 50 participants.

Logos Ministries held a 2-day Islam seminar at the Logos campus from Friday, 6th March to Saturday, 7th March 2026. The seminar was hugely attended by Logos alumni, Mission Department leaders from various congregations of CCAP Nkhoma Synod aong others. The seminar was very crucial for those who are passionate to minister to Muslim communities and defend christian faith. Attendance was good, as 73 people, excluding Logos staff, were in attendance.
