Today, our team had a wonderful and touching time of ministry as we visited three elderly households within our community. We visited Gogo Teleza Lyson, Gogo Sophlet Gamula who stays together with her child in one house, and Gogo Lucy Maliseni together with her two disabled sons, Paulo Chikwanje and Irasm Chikwanje.
Paulo and Irasm became disabled later in life, and they currently share one wheelchair for both of them. When one brother needs to travel or move around, the other is often forced to remain at home because there is no second wheelchair available. Despite these difficult circumstances, the two young men remain joyful and faithful. They are always happy to attend Bible Study gatherings together with their elderly mother. Their faith and positive spirit continue to inspire everyone around them.
In all the homes we visited today, we shared the Word of God from Matthew 25 and 1 John 3:1-11. This scripture deeply touched the hearts of the families we visited. They were greatly encouraged by the reminder that they are loved and called children of God. Even in old age, sickness, poverty, and physical disability, they now have renewed hope and confidence that God has not forgotten them.
The message helped them understand the importance of living in love, righteousness, and unity as children of God. It also strengthened their faith as they continue facing the challenges of life. Many of them expressed hope for a better future, trusting that God still has a purpose for their lives. The elderly people we visited shared how the Word of God brings them peace, comfort, strength, and encouragement during this stage of their lives.
We thank God for allowing our team to continue reaching vulnerable families with the love of Christ, prayer, encouragement, and Bible study fellowship.
