The Vocation Team of the Archdiocese of Lilongwe, in collaboration with the Pontifical Mission Societies, is today conducting a vibrant vocation promotion program at Lipimbi Zone under Salima Parish. The event has drawn hundreds of young people and Christians from Lipimbi and Chitala Zones, all gathered in a spirit of openness and discernment to reflect on their calling in life.
The day’s program commenced with an insightful presentation by Fr. John Kaliwamba, the Vocations Director, who spoke on the theological meaning and importance of priestly vocation. His talk emphasized commitment, service, and a deep relationship with God as central to the priestly life. This was followed by Sr. Clara Ngolombe, a member of the Vocation Team, who delivered a comprehensive presentation on the vocation to sisterhood, highlighting the beauty of consecrated life and the diverse charisms within religious congregations.
Later in the day, Fr. Geofrey Chikapa is expected to address participants on the role of the Pontifical Mission Societies, focusing on how Christians can actively promote vocations through prayer, financial support, and vocation animation. This initiative aligns with the peer-to-peer vocation promotion strategy championed by the Archdiocese.
Several congregations are present to accompany the youth, including the Diocesan Priests, Daughters of Blessed Maria Teresa Ledóchowska, Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, Missionary Sisters of Mary Mediatrix, Carmelite Missionaries, Franciscan Missionaries of Assisi, and the Sisters of Our Lady of Amersfoort, among others, fostering guidance and inspiration.
