Shaykh Sulayman al-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said:

Tonight is the night of twenty-five from the last ten nights “Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the last ten nights”, and it is an odd night “Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten”, and it is a night from the last seven “Whoever is seeking it, then let him seek it in the seven remaining nights”, and it is a night in which the Prophet ﷺ prayed the night prayer with his companions in congregation and extended the prayer until half of the night.

Hasan al-Basri (رحمه الله) said to Mutarraf ibn ’Abdillah:

“𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨!”

He replied: “𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳.”

Hasan said: “𝙈𝙖𝙮 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙝 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙮 𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪! 𝙒𝙝𝙤 𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙨 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨? 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙮𝙩𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙖𝙡—𝙗𝙮 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙣 𝙚𝙣𝙟𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙗𝙞𝙙𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙡.”
