Payaphyu Taunggyi, Home for the Orphans and the Person with Disabilities, The residential home for orphans and handicapped was found in 1962, under the care of Sisters of Charity for the diocese of Taunggyi.

The residential home for orphans and handicapped was found in 1962, under the care of Sisters of Charity for the Archdiocese of Taunggyi, which is located in Shan State. It depends on donors, many of whom are local. At present the home (Holy Infant Jesus Home for the Orphan and Handicapped) is caring for 17 blind, 16 who are deaf and dumb, 10 with cerebral palsy, 20 with epilepsy, and 39 others wh

o are unable to walk due to inborn, accidents or polio, etc. One has Down’s Syndrome and others are mentally deficient. In another building there are 49 healthy orphans who are attending local government schools.
