Understanding Jehovah God 's will. I have heard this statement many times, when things don't go well in life, "It must be Jehovah God 's will". Let us talk about Jehovah God 's will.
Scriptures:
James 4:13-15; Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit"; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a v***r that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, "if the Lord WILLS, we shall live and do this or that."

Knowing Jehovah God 's will for our lives is very important, yet many Christians are not clear about it. The Bible has shown us Two Types of the Will of Jehovah God, which are:
1. Sovereign Will of Jehovah God
2. Moral Will of Jehovah God
The Bible doesn't use those terms, but the concepts are there.
Let us look at the Sovereign Will of Jehovah God: Firstly let us look at the meaning of Sovereign God; It means, He is the supreme, omnipotent, and absolute ruler over all creation. Nothing happens outside His control or permission, as He governs History, nature and individual lives to accomplish His purpose. It implies that He is the final authority, working all things for His glory and the good of His people.
Jehovah God has total control and authority; He has the power and wisdom to do all He chooses and He rules over nations, nature and human hearts read (Proverbs 21:1)
No event is Random; Nothing happens that Jehovah God does not either Decree or Allow.
Jehovah God is Sovereign over History; Jehovah God rules over rulers, and kingdoms, using them to fulfill His plans. He is in charge of when events MUST happen, such as the death of Jesus, (Matthew 16:21).
Jehovah God is sovereign in salvation; The Bible portrays salvation as a work of Jehovah God's predestination, (Ephesians 1:11).
Psalm 103: 19; " The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His Kingdom rules over all".
Jehovah God' s Moral Will:
Jehovah God 's moral Will is what He has revealed in Scripture.
His moral Will is what He wants and desires for people. He doesn't enforce it. People can choose to obey it or not. For example; that you abstain from sexual immorality, (1 Thessalonians 4:3). Jehovah God Wills/Desires that we be pure. We have a choice to obey or not. Same with His Word, He does not force us to obey.
When we have made our choices then Jehovah God 's sovereignty now demands that He rules (judges).
The Difference Between Jehovah God ' s Sovereign Will and Moral Will:
Jehovah God' s Sovereign Will is very different from His Moral Will. His Sovereign Will is unrevealed, pre-determined plan of everything that happens in the universe. It is known only to Him, cannot be thwarted, will definitely occur, and only becomes known to us after it happens. It encompasses all the good and evil things that happen in the world and in our lives, (James 4: 13-15).
These are the only ways the Bible refers to the Will of Jehovah God.
For us to understand scripture referencing Jehovah God 's will, we need to ask, "which will is this referring to? For example; Jesus prays, "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). Which will is He referring to? Since Jehovah God's Sovereign Will is already being carried out, it must refer to Jehovah God's Moral Will. The prayer is that people would obediently do what Jehovah God desires in the same way as His desires are carried out in heaven.
When Apostle Paul says he is.....an Apostle of Christ Jesus by the Will of Jehovah God, (2 Timothy 1:1), which will is He referring to? This would be the Sovereign Will, the predetermined plan of Jehovah God.
I have a question for you? Ephesians 6:6; which Will is that?
When someone says, "l think it is Jehovah God's Will", ask them which will they are talking about. No one except Jehovah God knows His secret Sovereign Will, leaving only the option of Jehovah God 's Moral Will. Since that has been revealed in the Bible, their statement needs to line up with scripture. Either way, be discerning.
Finally, when you seek to pray according to the Will of Jehovah God, which Will are you praying about? The things Jehovah God has revealed are things we can ask for confidently knowing that is His Moral Will too. ( 1 John 5:14-15). Is poverty the Will of Jehovah God? Is sickness and Disease the Will of Jehovah God?
It's high time the Body Of Christ knows the Will of Jehovah God.
