*THE FOUNDATION THAT CANNOT FAIL*

*“"So then, everyone who hears my words and puts them into practice is like a wise man. He builds his house on the rock. The rain comes down. The water rises. The winds blow and beat against that house. But it does not fall. It is built on the rock. "But everyone who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man. He builds his house on sand. The rain comes down. The water rises. The winds blow and beat against that house. And it falls with a loud crash." Matthew‬ ‭7:24-27‬ ‭NIRV‬‬*

On what principles are you building your life or placing your hopes, both now and in the future? Any life or venture that is not founded on the divine and eternal foundation revealed through the words of Jesus will endure only for a moment, no matter how 'successful' it may appear now.

The true and lasting foundation that has already been laid is Jesus Christ, and everything besides Him is sinking sand. Therefore, it is foolish to build your hopes upon worldly prosperity, personal accomplishments, intelligence, traditions, past experiences, or an outward profession of religion. These are all sand, offering false hope and false security. They are too weak to support you in days of floods and storms.

Any house built on a weak foundation is bound to collapse when a fierce storm comes—the exact moment when the builder will need it most and expect it to shelter him. By then, it will be too late to build another. It is highly risky to merely hear the word of God and refuse to do what it says.

On the contrary, it is much safer to anchor your life on the teachings of Jesus, no matter how hard they may seem to the flesh. May the Lord help you give more earnest heed to the word of God you hear today, so that you may not drift away.

Good morning, and have a victorious and fruitful day!

*Reflection Questions:*
- _What is the primary source of your security when life gets stressful?_

- _What is one specific teaching of Jesus that you know well but struggle to put into practice?_

- _What minor "winds and waves" are currently testing your life, and how are you responding to them?_

*THE PILGRIM MINDSET*

*Then Abraham rose from beside his dead wife and spoke to the Hittites. He said, “I am a foreigner and stranger among you. Sell me some property for a burial site here so I can bury my dead.” Genesis 23:3-4.*

By this time, Abraham had lived in Canaan for 62 years after God called him at the age of 75. Sarah died at 127 years old. Yet, despite those decades, he owned no property of his own to bury his wife.

The implication for you as a disciple of Christ is clear: no matter how long you live in this world, and no matter how prosperous the Lord makes you, this world is not your home. You are merely a pilgrim on earth.

Therefore, conduct yourself with holy fear throughout your stay here. Look forward to the city with permanent foundations, whose Architect and Builder is God. Your true inheritance—which can never perish, spoil, or fade—is reserved for you there.

May the Lord God Almighty help you remain unentangled by the affairs of this present world so you do not forfeit your heavenly home. Good morning, and have a wonderful weekend.

*Reflection Questions:*
- _What are you gripping too tightly? Is there a physical possession, career status, or financial milestone that you are treating as your ultimate security instead of God?_

- _Does your lifestyle look permanent or temporary? If someone examined your daily choices, habits, and investments, would they see a temporary pilgrim or a permanent citizen of this world?_

- _What are you building your life upon? Are you investing your time and energy into things that will perish, spoil, and fade, or are you building toward the city whose Architect is God?_

*DIVINE DIRECTION IN DIFFICULT TIMES*

*“So David inquired of the Lord , saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” I Samuel 30:8 NKJV*

Life on this side of eternity is full of challenges and prospects. There are times when all our aspirations and hopes in life come to pass exactly as expected, or even more. At such times, our joy is full and we feel secure on every side. There are other times, however, when we experience the exact opposite of what we trusted God for. Does that mean our faith has failed, or that God has forgotten and forsaken us? Not necessarily. Severe trials and difficult times are part of the learning process for overcomers.

However, the love and presence of God remain constant for His faithful children, just as we know them to be in our moments of triumph. Therefore, when times get tough, it is not wise to concede defeat. Rather, take encouragement in God, who is always with you in every situation, and seek to know His perspective before you take your next action.

Seeking to know God’s will and following His commands in every area of your life brings divine direction, inner peace, monumental victory, total recovery, and deep satisfaction. On the other hand, taking steps outside of God’s will leads to frustration, confusion, failure, and internal crises, which invariably result in external defeat.

As you set out this new day/week may the Lord help you to seek His counsel and carefully adhere to His instructions, as He is committed to guiding you by His Holy Spirit. Good morning, and have a fruitful and prosperous week.

*Reflection Questions:*
- _What current challenge are you facing where you feel tempted to concede defeat?_

- _What specific instruction has the Holy Spirit given you recently that you need to adhere to more carefully
