GOSPEL ARROW
SERVING "THE LEAST OF THESE."
Gospel Arrow is a Christian ministry founded on the conviction that the love of Christ is meant to be put into tangible, compassionate action. We believe that true faith is not merely intellectual or spoken, but is demonstrated through "doing, acting, and showing up" for those in need.
Our name, "Gospel Arrow," represents our core philosophy. The Gospel is the power and motivation behind our work, and the Arrow is the targeted, practical act of service aimed directly at a person in need.
Our objective is to transform passive belief into a dynamic, mobilized force for good, thereby fulfilling the divine mandate to serve "the least of these."
MISSION STATEMENT:
To mobilize individuals and congregations to engage in proactive, tangible action that directly addresses fundamental human needs.
VISION STATEMENT:
To inspire and equip a global community of believers to actively live out their faith, and foster a culture of practical compassion that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries.
CORE VALUES:
- ACTION OVER INTENTION: We value doing, acting, and showing up more than just listening, talking, and thinking.
- UNCONDITIONAL LOVE: Our service is offered without judgment, based on the unconditional love of Christ for all people.
- HUMILITY: We seek no recognition for ourselves, but desire that Christ be glorified through our service.
- TANGIBLE COMPASSION: We believe the Gospel is made real when it is put into practical, compassionate action.
OUR FOUNDATIONAL SCRIPTURE:
MATTHEW 25:35-40
The entire mission of Gospel Arrow is built upon the words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 25, where He teaches about the final judgment and the criteria for entering the Kingdom of Heaven.
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me... Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
This passage is our direct mandate. Jesus identifies with "the least of these" the most vulnerable and marginalized members of society. Our acts of service to them are, in fact, direct acts of worship and service to Christ himself. This radical truth is what motivates every "Gospel Arrow" we send.
THE SIX ARROWS: OUR ACTIONS IN DETAIL
The "Six Arrows" represent a series of distinct, yet interconnected, programmatic initiatives designed to address specific human needs.
1. THE HUNGER ARROW: This initiative combats food insecurity.
We operate a mobile food pantry system, where volunteers package and deliver nutritious, non-perishable food parcels directly to the homes of identified families and individuals. Additionally, scheduled community distribution points are established to provide consistent access to sustenance.
Donations of staple food items (e.g., rice, beans, cooking oil), durable packaging materials, and access to reliable transportation are essential.
2. THE THIRST ARROW: This initiative addresses the critical need for clean drinking water.
Volunteer teams execute "Hydration Patrols" in high traffic public areas, distributing bottled water. We also establish "Hydration Stations" at partner locations to provide a continuous source of potable water.
A steady supply of bottled water, large-capacity coolers, and access to vehicles for bulk transport are required.
3. THE STRANGER ARROW: This initiative focuses on extending hospitality to the homeless and socially isolated.
A dedicated "Hospitality Corner" is established on a regular schedule within a secure, communal space. This location serves as a temporary sanctuary where individuals can find rest, light refreshments, and compassionate human connection.
A consistent venue, basic furniture (chairs, tables), refreshments, and a team of empathetic volunteers are critical.
4. THE CLOTHING ARROW: This initiative provides clothing, restoring dignity and practical utility.
The program operates through a "Pop-Up Clothing Closet" model. Donated apparel is meticulously sorted, cleaned, and organized by size and type. These items are then displayed in a dignified manner at scheduled events, allowing recipients to select their own clothes.
Donations of clean, functional clothing (with a particular need for children's clothes and new undergarments), along with logistical supplies such as storage containers, hangers, and folding tables.
5. THE SICKNESS ARROW: This initiative provides emotional, spiritual, and physical comfort to the sick and infirm.
A volunteer visitation program is at the heart of this initiative. Teams are dispatched to visit individuals in hospitals, care facilities, or their homes to offer companionship, prayer, and a tangible presence.
Basic hygiene supplies, comfort items, devotional literature (e.g., Bibles), and a team of compassionate volunteers are essential.
6. THE PRISON ARROW: This initiative extends grace and hope to the incarcerated.
The program involves a dual approach: a letter writing ministry provides a consistent form of communication and spiritual encouragement, while a formal visitation program, conducted in partnership with correctional facility chaplains, offers direct, personal engagement.
Writing materials (paper, pens, stamps), approved religious texts, and the logistical means for transport and donation delivery.
LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE: The ministry is governed by a clear, tiered leadership structure.
FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: Jonathan S. Ballah provides the overarching vision and executive leadership.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS: A governing body responsible for strategic oversight, financial accountability, and legal compliance.
ARROW COORDINATORS: Volunteer leaders who manage the day to day operations and team mobilization for each specific "arrow" initiative.
RESOURCE IDENTIFICATION: The ministry employs a two pronged strategy to ensure aid is delivered to the most vulnerable populations.
1. REFERRAL BASED IDENTIFICATION: Gospel Arrow relies on a network of trusted community partners, including church leaders, school administrators, and social workers, who can provide confidential referrals of individuals and families in need.
2. RELATIONAL OUTREACH: Volunteers actively engage in communities through mobile events and public presence, fostering a welcoming environment where individuals can comfortably seek assistance.
SUSTAINABILITY: OUR COMMITMENT TO LONG TERM IMPACT
Gospel Arrow is committed to a sustainable and responsible ministry model to ensure we can continue our work for years to come. Our sustainability rests on three pillars:
1 FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY: We pursue a diversified funding model, including individual donations, church partnerships, and grant applications. We are committed to complete financial transparency, providing donors with regular reports on the impact of their contributions.
2. VOLUNTEER SUSTAINABILITY: We recruit and retain a passionate volunteer base by providing clear roles, celebrating their contributions, and fostering a strong sense of community. We are proactive in preventing volunteer burnout through flexible scheduling and spiritual support.
3. COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP: We build a strong network of support by collaborating with local churches, businesses, and other nonprofit organizations. By working together, we can maximize our impact and avoid duplicating services.
WHO CAN JOIN AND SEND AN ARROW?
Anyone who identifies as a follower of Jesus Christ and is willing to put their faith into action can join Gospel Arrow. We believe that everyone has a role to play. You can send an arrow by:
1. BEING A DOER: Volunteering your time and effort for one of our "arrow" initiatives.
2. BEING A SUPPORTER: Donating financially or providing in-kind resources.
3. BEING A CONNECTOR: Using your network to connect us with individuals in need or with potential partners.
4. BEING A PRAYER WARRIOR: Committing to regularly pray for the ministry's work.
MINISTRY IMPACT: TRANSFORMATION THROUGH ACTION
The impact of Gospel Arrow extends far beyond the tangible goods and services it provides. The ministry's ultimate goal is to foster a transformative experience for both the recipients of its service and the individuals who serve.
IMPACT ON THE NEEDY: The "arrows" delivered by Gospel Arrow are designed to restore human dignity and instill a profound sense of hope. When a family receives a food parcel, they are not merely given a meal; they are shown that they have not been forgotten. When a sick individual receives a visit, they are not just being cared for physically; they are experiencing the unconditional love of Christ. These acts of service dismantle feelings of isolation and despair, replacing them with a renewed sense of worth and a connection to a caring community. The ministry's relational approach ensures that the impact is personal and enduring.
IMPACT ON THE GIVER: The ministry provides a pathway for believers to move from a passive, intellectual faith to a dynamic, active one. By participating in the "Six Arrows," volunteers are provided with a tangible opportunity to embody the Gospel message. This process deepens their spiritual walk, challenging them to view the world through a lens of compassion and to see the face of Christ in every person they serve. The act of giving becomes a spiritual discipline that produces personal growth, a stronger sense of purpose, and a more intimate relationship with God.
OUR IMPACT: MAKING THE DIFFERENCE
Gospel Arrow is making a difference by:
1. TRANSFORMING CHRISTIANS: Shifting the mindset of believers from passive faith to active, hands on service, making the gospel a living reality in their lives.
2. MEETING TANGIBLE NEEDS: Providing direct, targeted aid to those in our community who are suffering from poverty, hunger, and loneliness.
3. MODELING ACTIVE FAITH: Setting an example for other churches and believers, demonstrating that a deep, committed faith is one that serves others selflessly.
