CHRISTMAS GREETINGS

Grace, mercy, and peace to you from God our Father and from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
At this blessed season of Christmas, we join the angels of old in proclaiming the Good News announced on that holy night, as recorded in Luke 2:10–12, 14:
“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.”
Beloved sisters and brothers in Christ, at Christmas, the Good News dispels our fears. Fear breaks relationships, weakens communities, and stagnates progress. Fear binds the human spirit and clouds our vision with uncertainty and despair. Yet, the birth of Jesus Christ breaks the power of fear that holds us in bo***ge and frees us from every illusion that robs us of hope.

The angel’s message, “Do not be afraid,” is not merely a comforting word; it is a divine declaration. In the coming of Christ, God enters our human condition and assures us that we are not abandoned.
The Savior is born—not to frighten the world, but to redeem it; not to condemn, but to restore; not to divide, but to reconcile.
For us in the Lutheran Church in Liberia, this Good News renews our joy and rekindles our hope.
As a church and as a people, our fears are dispelled when we hear again the angelic proclamation that great joy has come for all people.
In Christ, we are called to live courageously, to love generously, and to serve faithfully, trusting that God is at work among us and through us.
As we celebrate the birth of our Lord, may His peace reign in your hearts, His love guides your relationships, and His hope inspires our common life as the people of God.
On behalf of the leadership of the Lutheran Church in Liberia, I extend to you and your families my warmest Christmas greetings.
Merry Christmas and a Happy, Peaceful, and Prosperous New Year.
Yours in Christ,

The Rt. Rev. Dr. G. Victor Padmore
Bishop

Lutheran Church in Liberia Honors Two Long-Serving Clergymen at Retirement Ceremony and Celebrates 508th Reformation.

The Lutheran Church in Liberia (LCL) has formally retired two of its esteemed ordained ministers from active pastoral service — Rev. Jallah Lewis G. McCay and Deacon Tiilee Sackie.

Rev. McCay, who most recently served as Bishop’s Assistant for almost three years, dedicated 26 years of faithful service to the Lutheran Church in Liberia in many high ranking positions within the LCL.
On the other hand, Deacon Tiilee Sackie concluded 25 years of committed ministry under the St. Andrew Lutheran Parish, Salala, Lower B**g District, B**g county, leaving behind a legacy of devotion and selfless service.

On behalf of the entire LCL family, the Bishop, Executive Council, and Senior leadership, we expressed heartfelt appreciation to both retirees for their unwavering dedication, spiritual leadership, and meaningful contributions to the growth and development of the church and humanity.

Their years of service, the Bishop noted, “stand as a testament to faith, humility, and commitment to God’s work and humanity.”
Although retired, the Bishop highlights their expertise remain unbending to the development of our Church.
This unique ceremony took place during the 508th Reformation Celebration at the Peaceful United Lutheran Church, one of the youngest, but progressive Churches within the LCL situated in Paynesville, Duport Road Community, Monrovia District pastored by Rev. F. Philip L. Nushann, Jr.
This year's Reformation Celebration was held under the Theme:"Freedom", text: St. Luke 13:11-17, with Rev. Robert S. Gonoe, Dean of the Monrovia District delivering the Sermon.

The LCL remains grateful to the organizing Committee and the Peaceful United Lutheran Parish for the successful hosting of these great occasions.

To God be the Glory!
