*FOCUS: CROSSING INTO A NEW SEASON*
*TEXT: JOSHUA 1:9*
*DATE: DECEMBER 31, 2024*

Thanks for attending the Day one of the Convention. See you on day two today, breakfast starts at 8am.

The last day of the year is a moment of transition—a time to look back with gratitude and forward with anticipation. For many, it’s a mixture of emotions: relief, hope, reflection, and perhaps uncertainty. Joshua 1:9 speaks to us in such moments: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” As we prepare to cross into a new year, this promise reminds us that we are never alone, and God’s presence will guide us through whatever lies ahead.

Joshua’s story is a fitting parallel for the end of the year. As he stood on the threshold of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land, he faced an unknown future. There were battles to fight, challenges to overcome, and a monumental task ahead. Yet, God’s command to Joshua was clear: Be strong and courageous, not because of his abilities, but because of God’s faithful presence.

For the youth in the congregation, this might mean stepping into new academic or career challenges with boldness. For young adults, it could mean facing transitions in relationships, work, or personal growth. For adults, it might involve balancing responsibilities or stepping into leadership roles. For the elderly, it’s a reminder that God still has a purpose for every season of life, and His presence remains constant.

As we reflect on 2024, we may celebrate achievements, acknowledge struggles, or grieve losses. Whatever the case, God calls us to step forward with faith, trusting that He goes before us. His command to be strong and courageous isn’t just an encouragement—it’s a promise rooted in His unchanging character.

Crossing into a new year is not just about leaving the old behind; it’s about stepping into God’s plans with faith and courage. As we move into 2025, let us do so with the assurance that the Lord our God will be with us wherever we go.

As you celebrate New Year’s Eve, set aside a quiet moment to reflect on the goals or dreams God has placed on your heart for 2025. Whether it’s starting a new venture, deepening your faith, or serving others, trust that He will equip you for the journey ahead.

*GOOD MORNING*
*WISH YOU A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR*

*FOCUS: IMMANUEL: GOD WITH US*
*TEXT: MATTHEW 1:23*
*DATE: DECEMBER 19, 2024*

As we approach Christmas, we are reminded of one of the most profound truths in scripture: God is with us. Matthew 1:23 declares, “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means ‘God with us’). This promise of God’s presence is at the heart of the gospel. It assures us that we are never alone, even in the midst of life’s challenges. Today, we reflect on what it means to have God with us and how this reality transforms our lives.

The name "Immanuel" is not just a title; it is a declaration of God’s character and His deep desire to be near His people. From the beginning, God has sought a relationship with humanity. In the Garden of Eden, He walked with Adam and Eve. Through the tabernacle and the temple, He dwelled among the Israelites. In Jesus, God took on human flesh, stepping into our world to live among us, experience our struggles, and ultimately save us.

Knowing that God is with us brings comfort and courage. His presence means we are never abandoned, even when we feel isolated or overwhelmed. He is with us in our joys and sorrows, guiding us through life’s uncertainties. This truth also reminds us that God is not distant or uninvolved. He is intimately aware of our needs, fears, and hopes, and He invites us to draw near to Him.

As believers, the promise of "God with us" continues through the Holy Spirit, who dwells within us. He empowers us to live according to God’s will, assures us of His love, and reminds us of our eternal hope in Christ.

Reflect on the areas of your life where you need to be reminded of God’s presence. Take time in prayer to acknowledge His nearness and invite Him into your daily decisions and struggles. Share the message of "God with us" with someone who might feel alone or distant from God this season. Let your actions and words reflect His love and presence to those around you. Finally, take comfort in the promise that no matter what you face, God is with you, and He will never leave you.

"God with us" is not just a Christmas message—it is a daily reality for every believer. As you go through today, let this truth fill your heart with peace and joy. You are never alone because Immanuel, God with us, is always near.

*FOCUS: FINISHING WELL*
*TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 3:13-14*
*DATE: DECEMBER 28, 2024*

As the year nears its end, it’s natural to reflect on how far we’ve come. Some of us may feel accomplished, while others might look back with a sense of regret or unfinished tasks. Philippians 3:13-14 encourages us with Paul’s words: “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” These verses remind us that no matter our past, we can finish the year well by focusing on Christ and the journey ahead.

Paul’s message to the Philippians is both practical and powerful. He acknowledges that he hasn’t yet “arrived” but is determined to keep moving forward. His focus isn’t on past failures or successes but on the eternal goal of knowing Christ and fulfilling God’s purpose for his life.

For the youth and young adults in the congregation, this may mean letting go of disappointments or missteps in school, relationships, or early career efforts. For adults, it could involve releasing the weight of unfulfilled plans or workplace pressures. For the elderly, it might mean finding peace in God’s continued purpose for your life, regardless of past seasons.

Paul’s “one thing” is an example for us all: forget what lies behind and strain toward what is ahead. The year’s successes or struggles are not the end of the story. God is continually calling us forward, offering grace to let go of the past and strength to pursue His plans with renewed focus.

Take time today to reflect on what you need to leave behind as the year ends. It could be a mistake, a missed opportunity, or even excessive pride in an achievement. Surrender these to God in prayer, trusting Him to renew your perspective.

Set a spiritual goal for the new year—perhaps reading through the Bible, joining a small group, or serving in a ministry. Whatever you choose, let it be a step toward deepening your relationship with Christ. Encourage someone in your circle, whether young or old, to do the same. Accountability and mutual encouragement can help you stay focused.

The end of a year is not just a time to look back but also a time to look forward. God calls us to press on, not in our own strength but with His guidance and grace. Whatever 2024 has held, finish it well by fixing your eyes on Jesus and trusting Him for the journey ahead.

*FOCUS: STRENGTH FOR THE NEXT SEASON*
*TEXT: ISAIAH 40:31*
*DATE: DECEMBER 27, 2024*

As the year draws to a close, we often find ourselves reflecting on the past months and anticipating what’s ahead. Whether we feel weary from the challenges we’ve faced or energized by the blessings we’ve received, Isaiah 40:31 encourages us: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” This verse speaks to people of all ages, reminding us that our strength comes not from our circumstances but from the Lord.

Life is a journey filled with seasons—some vibrant and full of growth, others marked by challenges that test our endurance. As we stand on the threshold of a new year, it’s normal to feel a mix of emotions. For the youth and young adults, there may be dreams and ambitions yet to be fulfilled. For adults, there may be responsibilities and pressures weighing heavy. For the elderly, there might be reflections on life’s purpose and legacy.

Isaiah’s words remind us that regardless of where we are in life, those who put their hope in the Lord will find renewed strength. Like eagles soaring effortlessly in the sky, God enables us to rise above difficulties. He gives us the endurance to keep running when life feels like a race and the perseverance to keep walking even when the path feels long.

The key is where we place our hope. If we rely solely on our strength, we will grow tired. But when we trust in God, He renews us daily, equipping us for every task and challenge. His strength is sufficient for the youth dreaming big, the adults balancing responsibilities, and the elderly seeking purpose in every season.

As we approach the new year, take time to reflect on where your hope lies. Are you leaning on your strength, or are you trusting in the Lord? Spend a few moments each day in prayer, asking God to renew your strength and guide your steps. Share your hopes and burdens with a trusted friend, family member, or mentor, and encourage one another to keep pressing forward in faith.

For the youth and young adults, commit your dreams to God and trust His timing. For the adults, seek His wisdom for balancing responsibilities and resting in His peace. For the elderly, receive His promise of purpose and impact, even in quieter seasons.

As we move toward the end of the year, let us remember that our strength is not limited by our abilities but is renewed daily by our hope in the Lord. Whether you are soaring, running, or walking, God is with you, equipping you for the journey ahead.

*FOCUS: RENEWED FOR THE JOURNEY AHEAD*
*TEXT: LAMENTATIONS 3:22-23*
*DATE: DECEMBER 26, 2024*

The days after Christmas can feel like a pause before the new year begins—a time to reflect and prepare for what lies ahead. For many, it’s a mix of joy, fatigue, and anticipation. In these moments, we are reminded of God’s faithfulness through Lamentations 3:22-23: “Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” These verses encourage us to face each day as a fresh start, sustained by God’s unending love and mercy.

The writer of Lamentations penned these words in the midst of sorrow and difficulty, yet he found hope in God’s steadfast love and faithfulness. This is a truth we can hold onto as we navigate the days ahead. No matter what we’ve experienced—joys, struggles, or unfulfilled expectations—God’s compassion is always available to renew and strengthen us.

The post-Christmas season often brings a shift in focus. We may begin thinking about resolutions, setting goals, or wondering what the next year will bring. But before we look too far ahead, let’s pause to remember that God’s mercies are new every morning. He provides the strength we need, one day at a time, and walks with us through every step of the journey.

Christmas reminds us of the greatest gift: Jesus, the embodiment of God’s love. His presence ensures that we are never alone and that we have a constant source of renewal and hope.

As we move forward from Christmas, let us carry the reminder of God’s great love and faithfulness with us. Each day is an opportunity to experience His new mercies and to live in the hope and strength He provides. Whatever the journey ahead holds, we can trust that His compassion will never fail.

*FOCUS: THE SAVIOR IS BORN*
*TEXT: LUKE 2:11*
*DATE: DECEMBER 25, 2024*

Merry Christmas! Today, we celebrate the most extraordinary event in history—the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In Luke 2:11, the angel declares to the shepherds, “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.” These words resound through time, reminding us that Christmas is not just about traditions or gifts but about the gift of salvation and the hope that entered the world through Jesus Christ.

The announcement of Jesus’ birth was made to shepherds—ordinary people in an ordinary place. Yet, this ordinary moment became extraordinary because God chose it to reveal His plan of redemption. The angel’s message highlights three important truths about Jesus. First, He is the Savior, the one who came to rescue us from sin and restore our relationship with God. Second, He is the Messiah, the promised deliverer who fulfils all the hopes and expectations of God’s people. Third, He is Lord, the King who reigns over all and invites us to submit our lives to Him.

Christmas is a reminder that God stepped into our brokenness, bringing light into darkness and hope into despair. Jesus’ birth is a personal gift to each of us—a Savior born to you. This personal nature of His coming calls us to respond with gratitude, worship, and a renewed commitment to walk in His light.

As you celebrate Christmas today, take time to focus on the true meaning of the day. Read the story of Jesus’ birth in Luke 2 and reflect on what it means for you. Share the joy of this good news with your family, friends, or even a stranger who might need encouragement. Let your words and actions reflect the love and grace of the Savior whose birth we honour.

Christmas is a celebration of God’s love and faithfulness. It is a day to rejoice in the Savior who was born for us and to remember that His coming changes everything. May the joy of Christ’s birth fill your heart today and every day, reminding you of the hope and peace we have in Him.
