"...and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
Introduction
Serving God is not a burden; it is a privilege that brings great rewards. While we should not serve God only because of what we receive, the Bible clearly teaches that God blesses and honors those who faithfully serve Him. He never forgets the labor, sacrifice, and obedience of His children.
Today we will look at some of the rewards that come from faithfully serving God.
1. God's Presence
One of the greatest rewards of serving God is His continual presence.
God promises never to leave those who faithfully follow Him. His presence gives us courage, comfort, guidance, and strength through every season of life.
Scriptures (KJV)
Matthew 28:20
"...and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
Isaiah 41:10
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee... I will strengthen thee... I will help thee... I will uphold thee..."
Application:
No matter where life takes you, God walks with those who serve Him faithfully.
2. Divine Protection
God protects His faithful servants from dangers seen and unseen.
His protection does not mean we will never face trials, but it means He will preserve, defend, and deliver us according to His will.
Scriptures (KJV)
Psalm 91:1-2
"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust."
Exodus 23:25
"And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee."
Application:
God watches over His servants and fights battles they cannot fight themselves.
3. Provision and Blessings
God faithfully provides for those who trust and serve Him.
He knows every need before we ask and promises to supply according to His riches.
Scriptures (KJV)
Matthew 6:33
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
Philippians 4:19
"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Application:
When we put God's kingdom first, He takes care of our needs.
4. Peace and Joy
Serving God fills the heart with lasting peace and joy that the world cannot give.
Worldly happiness depends on circumstances, but God's joy remains even during difficult times.
Scriptures (KJV)
John 14:27
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you... Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
Nehemiah 8:10
"...for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
Application:
A servant of God can have peace during storms because Christ is with them.
5. Strength During Trials
God strengthens those who continue serving Him through difficulties.
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength..."
Application:
God gives fresh strength when we feel weak and tired.
6. Eternal Reward
The greatest reward of serving God is eternal life with Jesus Christ.
Our labor for the Lord is never wasted.
Scriptures (KJV)
Revelation 22:12
"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me..."
1 Corinthians 15:58
"...your labour is not in vain in the Lord."
Conclusion
Serving God is always worthwhile. He rewards His servants with:
His presence
Divine protection
Provision and blessings
Peace and joy
Strength in difficult times
Eternal rewards
Remain faithful because God never forgets those who serve Him with sincere hearts.
God bless you
