SUBJECT: FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR OUR DECEASED BROTHER PRIESTS
DATE: May 9, 2026

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

On March 20, 2026, I informed you that the Liberian National Police had requested the Archdiocese not to carry out any burial arrangements for our two deceased brother priests and to preserve their remains pending the conclusion of police investigations, including a possible autopsy.

I now wish to officially inform you that the Liberian National Police, through the Coroner's Office, has communicated to the Archdiocese that all procedures requested by the Police, including the autopsy, have been completed. The remains of our brother priests have therefore been released to the Archdiocese, and we have been asked to proceed with the burial arrangements.

The Archdiocese of Monrovia expresses sincere gratitude to the Liberian National Police, the Ministry of Justice, and all those who have been part of this process. We also extend profound appreciation to the families of our deceased brothers for their patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout this difficult period.

In order to peacefully lay our brothers to rest, the following arrangements have been made:

(All tributes, including those from the Church and the families, will be paid during the wake service.)

Burial will follow at the Queen of Peace Shrine, Virginia.

I encourage all priests, religious, and lay faithful to continue praying for the eternal repose of our departed brothers and for strength and consolation for their families and the entire Archdiocese.

May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace! Amen.

Kind regards.

🕊️ TRIBUTE TO OUR FALLEN PRIESTS 🕊️

With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we the the Christ the King Family join the Archdiocese of Monrovia and the entire Catholic community in mourning the passing of our beloved priests:

✝️ Rev. Fr. Alphonsus B. Mombo
✝️ Rev. Fr. Roland G. Biah

These faithful servants of God dedicated their lives to preaching the Gospel, serving the people, and guiding souls to Christ. Their sudden departure is a great loss not only to the Church but to all of us who looked up to them as spiritual fathers.

In this moment of the grief, we are reminded that “whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord” (Romans 14:8). Though they are no longer with us physically, their legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire us.

🙏 We call on all Catholics to remain prayerful, united, and strong in faith during this difficult time.
🙏 Let us offer our Rosaries and Holy Masses for the peaceful repose of their souls.

🕯️ Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

🕊️ Rest well, dear Fathers. You have fought the good fight.

Day 4: Saturday after Ash Wednesday

Theme: Called to Conversion and Mercy

Scripture: Luke 5:31–32 – “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Invocation of the Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit, healer of souls, reveal my need for grace and lead me to the mercy of Christ.

Meditation
Lord, You come not for the perfect but for the willing. You do not avoid my wounds; You enter them. Yet pride often makes me hide my need for healing. I compare myself with others and forget to compare my heart with Your holiness. Lent exposes the truth: I am a sinner in need of mercy, and this is not despair but hope, because You are a merciful Saviour. Conversion begins when I stop defending my faults and start surrendering them. You sit at table with
sinners, not to excuse sin but to restore the sinner. Teach me humility to admit where I need healing and trust to bring it to You. Repentance is not rejection but return, not fear but encounter with mercy.

Petition
Father, give me the grace of honest repentance. Remove defensiveness and self-justification from my heart. Help me to desire healing more than appearances.

Resolution
Today I will make a brief but sincere examination of conscience and ask forgiveness from God or from someone I have wronged.

Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, physician of my soul, I come to You as I am. Heal what is wounded, correct what is disordered, and restore what is weak. May this Lent draw me into the freedom of being forgiven and renewed by Your mercy. Amen.

(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.)
