Resurrection Sunday Service | April 5, 2026 ✝️

Resurrection Sunday (often called Easter) is the most important celebration in Christianity because it centers on the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Its importance goes far beyond a historical event—it carries deep spiritual meaning and hope for believers.
At its core, Resurrection Sunday represents victory over sin and death. Christians believe that when Jesus rose from the grave, He demonstrated power over death, proving that sin does not have the final say. This is why the resurrection is often described as the foundation of Christian faith—without it, the message of Christianity would lose its power and meaning.

It is also important because it confirms who Jesus is. The resurrection is seen as proof that Jesus is the Son of God and that His teachings and promises are true. Everything He said about forgiveness, eternal life, and salvation is validated through His rising from the dead.

Another key aspect is the promise of new life. Resurrection Sunday symbolizes hope, renewal, and transformation. Just as Jesus rose, believers trust that they too can experience spiritual renewal now and eternal life in the future. It’s a reminder that no situation is beyond God’s ability to restore.
Additionally, it highlights God’s love and sacrifice. The events leading up to Resurrection Sunday—Jesus’ crucifixion—show the depth of God’s love for humanity. The resurrection completes that story, turning what seemed like defeat into ultimate victory.

Finally, Resurrection Sunday brings a message of hope and joy. It reminds people that even in the darkest moments, there is the possibility of new beginnings. That’s why it is celebrated with such joy, worship, and gratitude around the world.
In short, Resurrection Sunday matters because it represents hope, victory, truth, and new life—the very heart of the Christian message.
