It’s hard to believe, but we are into the last quarter of 2025
As we move closer to the end of the year, it is a good time to start planning for 2026 and what we should be doing now.
There is an old saying, “If you fail to plan – you plan to fail.”
No words have ever had more meaning.
It is important to plan.
Church leadership planning meeting is a bit different from all others but they all have the same goal TO SUCCEED!!
Developing a strategic plan involves setting clear vision, mission and values statements. Once these are in place, church leaders should then create a detailed plan
The World Needs The Church
The world has become increasingly dark. We are experiencing a time like no other and witnessing a great moral decline.
These events should fuel church leaders to do the work of the ministry and focus on its mission.
The world needs the body of Christ to stand up, take its place, and do the work of the ministry by fulfilling each calling.
The church has work to do and a mission to fulfill, and we need to continually look forward to what God has in store!
Planning helps us focus on church priorities that move us closer to achieving our mission.
You have to start your 2026 Planning and it is good that one start at this time. You should be extremely grateful to Yahweh for the staff you have developed over the years as a pastor or General Overseer, their availability, their readiness, their zeal and their commitment to sacrificial work as team.
Assessment – Understanding where you are now.
Planning – Defining where you are going and how you will get there.
Action – Implementation of plan, monitoring how you are doing and identifying what needs to change.
Few ways in setting strategic plans for 2026.
1. Church Strategy- This enables you to know the ways in which you can actualize you goals.
2. Setting 2026 Church Goals- This is bringing out the achievable goals to attain for the year.
3. Creating a Church Budget- This helps you to know how to spend and how to maintain or save for growth and development of the ministry
4. Reviewing Policies And Procedures- The process of viewing what is set to guide the vision or ministry.
5. 2026 Church Events- Understanding what should be dealt with during the set targeted years.
A successful process allows us to clarify our church’s mission, vision and core values.
This then gives direction to our planning, operations and decision making. It also gives us a means by which we can evaluate current and new activities and build a plan for our future.
We have to be focused. As much as we can, we have to be deliberate with the why as well as what and how we do what we do. This is impossible without planning. Anything sustained and significant in church life cannot and should not happen by accident.
