Varflay Kamara, Director of Public Affairs at the Liberia Broadcasting System, has been selected for the Edward R. Murrow Program for Journalists, part of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).

Since 1940, IVLP has connected global leaders with American institutions to strengthen transparency and accountability.

The Murrow Program focuses on investigative reporting, ethical journalism, and the role of a free press in building trust and stability—foundations that support stronger trade, investment, and international partnerships.

Congratulations to Varflay Kamara on this outstanding achievement!

This is welcoming!

The U.S. Embassy welcomes the signing of a concession and access agreement between U.S. owned Ivanhoe Atlantic and the Government of Liberia.

This estimated $1.8 billion deal is a crucial step towards President Boakai’s objectives of developing Liberia’s multi-user rail policy and securing new international investment.

By increasing U.S. investment in Africa, we drive mutual prosperity and support Liberia’s move from aid to trade.

The U.S. Embassy’s Consular Section hosted a focused discussion at the American Center with 15 youth leaders representing a range of organizations.

The session covered the importance of legal travel, proper use of non-immigrant visas, and the serious consequences of overstaying. Liberia has a 20 per cent overstay rate, the tenth highest rate in the world.

Overstaying a visa or engaging in unauthorized activities while in the U.S. violates immigration law and may lead to visa bans for individuals.

Help us spread the word. Don’t abuse your visa privileges. Responsible travel begins with knowledge.
