Text: Jonah 2:1 - 6

Theme: "This Is Not Where You Belong; Why Are You Here?"

Preacher: Rev. Peter M Kollie
Interpreter: Mr. Paye Q Malata

INTRODUCTION TO THE MESSAGE

In Luke 15: 13 - 18, a story is told about a rich man who had two sons. It happened that one day the youngest son walked up to the father and said, Dad, I need my share of all the properties you have. The Bible tells us that it was not an easy thing for the father but he had to do it because he was a father who wanted to please his children. His father granted his request and gave him a portion of his properties. They say to us that the son left and went to a far-off place. There he lived a loose and reckless life. With the money, women pulled on him - some rubbing his back; some cleaning his nails; some kissing him; some combing his hair; some hugging him. The guy was enjoying. Little did he know that all those women were just around him for his little money.

When the money 💰finished, they all vanished. How long will the money of such stay with you when it is not in business or bank? "Look, you aren't my type; I regret to have met you; I was jammed that was why I even befriended you; I think you are mistaking me for some", these were some of the statements some of those same women to him when he became poor beyond description.

Regrettably, when he became adject poor, hunger hit the land where he resided. Friends left him. Don't even mention sweethearts, none was close to him. The Bible says he began to starve. At this time, he went to a guy who was a pig 🐖 farmer. He said to him Sir, I am looking for a job to do. The man in response to him there is no job besides feeding pigs. Now, you must understand something about this - "I have only pigs to take care of". The real was this son was a Jew. His employer knowing that Jew had pigs as taboo ordered him to give him a job to take care of pigs. What is the wrong turn?

The son accepted the job because he had no option. A Jew who was forbidden to have a dealing with pigs is now catering to pigs. The problem was not just taking care of the pigs but he went yond to eat the food of the pigs 🐖. Are we sensing the point? You can deduce the point we want to drop at if you are following fully. A Jewish man who is not to touch a pig is now taking care of pigs. First of all, what is he doing at the pig fence? What took him there? Someone who is not supposed to touch a pig is caring for pigs, what took him there? He had to bathe the pigs, measure their food, mix it well, and serve them. At some point, he ate some when he got hungry in the process of catering to the pigs. Imagine!

Now, what is the most important question? I guess the most important is, what are you doing there?

With that in mind, permit me to speak on the theme: This is not where you belong; why are you here? Amen! You don't belong there why are you there? As a Jew you are taking care of pigs is that where you supposed to be?

We have said all these as a means to lay the basis of our message. We read a story about Prophet Jonah. We aren't here to take through the in-depth history of Jonah, but his response to God. In the spiritual world, God had called Jonah to go specifically to Nineveh. Now, amid Jonah's worries, he intentionally and deliberately chose not to obey God.

Look, anybody like any of us could refuse to go to Nineveh knowing the history of Nineveh. In the eyes of God Jonah was not justified to refuse God's command. We are not saying Jonah was right. Now, humanly speaking, we might be in sympathy with Jonah because he knew how cruel and wicked these very people were.

According to historicity whenever the people of Nineveh to war and captured enemies they would kill them and skin them. They used the skins of their enemies to decorate their homes. They did the same to the people of Israel. Jonah knew this story very well. Jonah knew how the people of Nineveh had long punished them so I refused to go there so that God could get angry and destroy their city - a form of payback.

Isn't that what we do to people who once hurt us? I mean when we have the opportunity to help them use that time to strangulate them?

That is what we do. I like to do eye for eye; evil for evil and just so on. But doesn't see it that way. He says to love your enemies and do good for them. Jonah decided not to go simply because he wanted God's anger to come to Nineveh. Like Jonah, some of us fail to understand that our thinking is not God's thinking. Our anger against others will not make God revert his decision. Never.

And that's why he says in Proverbs that if I try to revenge for you but then you get happy because I am revenging for you I will revert my decision.

This is not where you belong but why are you there? The choice or decision we make each day of our lives has future impacts on us either positively or negatively. As children of God, it is key to know how to respond to God's instructions because the choice we make is the basis of us having a cordial or uncordial relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Many of you will agree with me that years back you made a decision and today you live to regret that decision you made. It is either for the best or the worst. When you look back you think it would have been wasted years if it were the worst decision. On the other end, you see it as a blessed decision if it was the best decision.

Sometimes we make these decisions or choices based on fear. Oh if I don't this will happen tomorrow. Sometimes we make these decisions or choices based on frustration. Well, nothing I can do now so let me just do this one. Sometimes we make these decisions or choices based on ignorance. Sometimes we make these decisions or choices based on deliberate choice to disobey God. Amen!

Why are you there? Is that the place you should be?

A FEW REASONS WHY YOU ARE WHERE YOU ARE TODAY

1. Refusal to Follow God's Instructions: Jonah had the perfect opportunity to obey God but he refused and chose the other way. Sometimes the decision comes from God through someone. The person will tell you this decision you are about to take is wrong. It is not right. Yet you will choose to do it your way. In Jonah's case, no one advised him but he chose not to obey God. So we are where we are because we refused to adhere to God's advice or advice from our friends.

2. Avoiding Given Responsibility: Sometimes we are where we are because we try to avoid a given responsibility. Jonah, go to Nineveh and preach my words. Then Jonah said you know what, God? That other work I am not doing it. Find someone else to do it.

3. Easiest Way to Life: Once you choose to trust yourself and speed up with life, not waiting for God's time, then you are heading the wrong way. Sometimes we try to find the easiest way to live.

Life for us as Christians means patience and diligently waiting for the Lord. Whenever we as Christians choose to do things the fastest way and not wait for God's time we are heading for trouble.

When we choose to follow God's Instructions, when choose to avoid God's given responsibility or follow the easiest path in life what comes out of it? This is our next point of discussion.

WHAT ARE THE RESULTS WHEN WE ARE AT THE WRONG PLACE

You people, you have concluded that you cannot find your match in the church and so you are out there to look for your soulmate, look, the Bible says darkness and light have nothing in common. You can not change a person whose ideology is different from yours.

"....Then Jonah prayed in the belly of the fish". Is that where Jonah should be? No. He is at the wrong place. Jonah who should have boarded a boat from Joppa to Nineveh is now in the belly of a fish. Like Jonah, where you currently is that where you should be while praying? God will hear you because he is a forgiving God but the mark is on you.

In verse 5, it says the water surpassed Jonah. Not only did the water do so but he was in the belly of a fish. It says further that Jonah was messed up with all sorts of stuff in the fish's belly. Is that where you belong Jonah in the belly of a fish when you should be in a canoe?

When you choose or when I choose to be where am not to be these are some of the things that happen:

1. The SHORTEST distance becomes the LONGEST: From Joppa to Nineveh was approx. 550 miles but the path Jonah followed was 2500 miles. Imagine a difference of 1950 miles. My friend when you decide to take a short in life the shortest distance becomes the longest distance. In Numbers Chapter 14, Israel decided to take shortcuts but they spent 40 years on a journey that could only take 11 days. Every time we choose to take the easy route we end up encountering tough times.

2. Uncomfortable Zone: The shortest distance doesn't just become the longest when we are in the wrong place but we also find ourselves in uncomfortable zones. The young man is uncomfortable because he chooses to go to a place where he doesn't belong. Jonah was messed up with all sorts of stuff in the fish's belly because he chose the wrong place.

Now, here is the point. The suffering is just unbearable. The pain is too much. Everything is just not fine but you have nothing to do about it. All you have to do is to live with it because it is where you find yourself. What could Jonah do when is is distressed, he is confused with too much agony?

Why are you at the place you are? It is not the place you belong. Jonah is in the fish's belly but nothing he can do about it. Granted, let's assume he had a knife with him what could he have done? If he cut the belly of the fist and came out he could remain in the water.

There are some situations that we encounter with no alternative to solve them. Absolutely nothing can be done. Knowing that you have a situation similar to what we are discussing you will understand exactly what I am saying. You don't belong here but why are you there?

We are there because we disobeyed God. We are there because we failed to trust our future in God's hand. We are there because we avoided God's given responsibility. The aftermath is to be in a very uncomfortable environment; the shortcut has become the longest in your life.

You are experiencing sorrow, disrespect, pain, etc because you are in a place you're not to be. Sadly nothing you can do about it. The question is there any way out?

Yes, there is a way out. Sometimes God the way out is just to say yes Lord, your grace is sufficient for me. With all of your problems, I will serve you. Sometimes God won't take you from that problem instantly. He tells you to wait for a special time. Sometimes he tells you to decide to see his wonder. Then the Bible says Jonah prayed to God. The Bible says also that the young man prayed to God. Look, sometimes you just need to accept what the little voice tells you to do. Jonah knew no one could help him besides God. Like Jonah, sometimes you just need to pray to God. Make him understand that it is only him you trust.

In verse 2 it says, God heard Jonah's cry. Sometimes you have to say I can not make it on my own. Yes, I may appear as a failure to others but God is still willing to accept me. I am going to him. Jonah knowing that he couldn't make it cried unto God.

This means we must come to our senses to realize the efforts of God in our lives. You came to the city and learned but you are back on the farm. You are the one saluting palm trees. With all the education, you are one begging. Is that the life you opted for? Is that the place you should be? Come to your senses by begging God and admitting that you are in the wrong. Don't justify anything.

In first John 1:9 he says if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleansw us all of unrighteousness. In Second Chronicles 7:14 he says if my people that are called by my name can humble themselves, seek my face, and turn away from their sins, I will hear from heaven and bless their land.

You and I can come to our senses by admitting our sins to God and not through shifting of blame. After admitting our sins, we come to our senses by asking God to forgive us. And thirdly do what the Lord says. The Bible says God appeared to Jonah for the second time and said, "Arise and go to Nineveh and preach my word to my people". And it says further that Jonah arose and went to Nineveh as God had instructed him. This time Jonah went according to God's will and not according to his as he previously did.

This is not where you should be but why are you here? Is this how you want to be? No good parents want their children to come out wrongly. Every parent wishes the best for their children. However, when the child fails to listen he goes his own way. Similarly, Jesus doesn't want us to go wayward but if we choose to go about it, that is it. The good news is he is always willing to accept us once we recognize him as our Savior.

If you have made a decision where will it carry you this new year, 2025? Are you where God wants you to be? Think about these questions as you do during the week.

The word of the Lord!

Theme: "You Have Made Your First Serious Mistake For 2025"

INTRODUCTION TO THE MESSAGE

We see a light bulb shining, yet we have no understanding of what makes it shine except for those who may know about it. For instance, I am not an electrician, but I want to use the electric current as a scenario to help us picture the message for 2025.

For a light to shine there must be a source. And a source of light can only be empowered through wires. Interestingly enough, the wires required to transport a current are in two folds called poles. They are positive and negative poles. The negative pole is responsible for transporting electrons which flow through the wire.

Normally, when we talk about negativity, we feel it is not good or worthy. No one wants negative things to happen to them. So, the potential difference between the negative and positive poles drives what we call an electron. Science tells us that electrons are smaller particles of an atom that partake in chemical reactions or processes. Current flows when there is a closed path and a potential difference to drive the movement of charges. In other words, when the positive loses electrons and the negative gains, then current flows.

We can compare this scenario involving the positive and negative wires to produce current or light to our life journey. In life's journey, there must be positive and negative situations that we encounter to help us to be balanced. Not just to help us balance but to help us grow from one stage to another or to make us more effective.

So, as we enter 2025, we need to be reminded that the challenges of life, which are the negative, and the blessings or happiness of life, which we call the negative, put together to make us successful. As we enter this year, if you enter with a one-sided mind what does that mean?

With this question in mind, please permit me to speak to you shortly on the theme: "You Have Made Your First Serious Mistake For 2025".

You may ask, how. The reason for this question is that if you have entered 2025 with a one-sided view or one-sided mindset about life, then you have just made the first serious mistake. Life is never one-sided. Life isn't all about about positivity. Life needs to be balanced. This is one of the reasons we get frustrated when things aren't happening the way we want them to happen. This is so because think life is a bread and butter.

My friend, if you enter this year, 2025, everything will be rosy; everything will be bread and butter, and everything will be ok throughout, then you have made the first serious mistake.

Consider the text in verse 14. It says, to be happy in the days of prosperity or when things are good. But remember, there will come a day of adversity, a day of hardship, a day of distress, a day of sorrow. It means there will come a day when you will have no money while your kids are sick and everyone is hungry at home. It says God made both of them. He made the day of good and the day of bad.

This reminds us that God also has plans for the negative in our lives. My brother and sister, if you have closed the door for the negative, then you have made the worst mistake. Because you will be shocked when you encounter the negative right at your doorstep. It will be so surprising. This was exactly the mindset of Job's wife. When things were okay, God was good, but when things were wrong, God became the worst. That was when she said to Job, my man is it only you that be holy here? Curse God and die. She had a one-sided mind. She did believe in challenges. She had the mindset of positivity. She didn't want a bad moment.

Then in response, Job said you are one of foolish women. You speak so foolishly. Do we always expect good from God all of the time and not a bad thing? Job told his wife. Amen

Job is teaching his wife (us) that life is not one-sided. Life is not always rosy. Life must be balanced. Today, you might have food to eat, but tomorrow,w, you may not have. Today, you have new clothes to wear but tomorrow, you won't. Today, you have money but tomorrow, you won't. Today, you may be well but tomorrow, you won't. Today, you may be a bachelor or spinster, but tomorrow, you won't. The same will happen vice versa. You have just made the first mistake of approaching the new year with a one-sided mind.

Secondly, you have just made the first serious mistake by depending on your ideas to make it through. King Solomon knew this that is why he warned us in Proverbs 3: 5-7 by saying trust in the Lord with all thy heart. And lean not onto your understanding in all thy way acknowledge him and he shall direct your path. Be not wise in thy own eyes; fear God and depart from evil.

Many times in life, we come to the point that our education, our ideas, and our thinking or contacts can take us to the next level. My brother and sister, if you have entered 2025 with such a mindset, then you have made the first serious mistake. We can not make it on our own. When you try to depend on your knowledge, experience, or contacts, you will be let down. This why the wisest man to have ever lived, King Solomon, warned us seriously about depending on our knowledge and experience.

Jesus also warned us in St. John 15:4-5. He says: Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me, you can do nothing.

Trusting in ourselves to face life will always lead us to the worst failure. Each of us must learn to depend on God. Knowing that we are nothing on our own. We can not make it without him. Our power, strength, money, knowledge, experience, or ideas, we can not make it in life. Minus God we can not make it in life. You have just made the first mistake if you think your knowledge and ideas can take you through. Your thinking is one-sided in this case.

Lastly, you have just made the first mistake if you depend on others. If you depend on your wife, husband, children, uncle, nephew, niece, friend, or contacts, you have just made the first mistake. Soon you will realize that you will be led down.
Psalms 118: 8 - 13. It says: It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Again it is repeated. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in Princess or James. And then, in verse 10, this is what Moses said was the source of his strength: All nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. Amen!

You can only overcome when you depend on God but not human beings.
Verse 11, "They surrounded me, Yes, they surrounded me; But in the name of the Lord, I will destroy them.

Verses 12 and 13 read: They surrounded me like bees; They were quenched like a fire of thorns; For in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. You pushed me violently, that I might fall, But the Lord helped me. Amen

WHY WE SHOULDN'T TRUST HUMAN BEING

∆. Human beings are not reliable: We are not reliable because human beings are limited.

∆. Human beings are deceptive: We can make promises but don't fulfill them. Human beings give sweet mouths. You may agree with me that you were promised but in the end, the person told you the contrary. They either told you they had different things on hand, or they were sick, etc.

∆. Human beings can get sick and die: Don't depend on human beings can get sick at any time and die. The person will want to do it, but they are unable to do so because of illness or unforeseen circumstances such as death, etc. The little money I had I just bought medicine, what will you do? Nothing. The person has already taken the excuse that you don't have control over

IS THERE A WAY IN SUCH SITUATION?

Yes. Trust in God. God is the only one we should put our trust in. It is only God we can put our confidence in and he will never let us down, not man. Doing so with a man will lead you to fail. God is the only way out.

TWO REASONS WE SHOULD PUT OUR CONFIDENCE IN GOD

∆. God will not get sick or die. He doesn't need medication to make excuses for not giving because of medical fees. Hoping on other people is a waste of time. When you hope on God he will take you through 2025.
Psalm 90:1-2 2 says God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is an eternity. He will never change. This is why we can depend on him.

The second and last reason is God does lie. He can't lie. He can't lie. He has never told a lie. And he will never lie. In Number 23:19, this is what Moses said about God, God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? God won't say if I have known. Nothing is surprising to him. God is not limited by any circumstances. He is our true helper. Psalms 121:1-2 says: I will lift my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made the heaven and the earth.

Brethren, if you are going through this message and you depend on your car, wife, husband, child, uncle, nephew, niece, cousins, or someone so special, know that you will be let down.

As we begin this New Year, 2025, let us bear in mind that everything will not be rosy. Everything will not be bread and butter. However, with the help of God, we can make it.

Let us conclude with Romans 8:28. It says, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose".

Hard times will come this year. There will be a day when there will be no food. Your husband or wife will complain. There will be a day when there will be no round soap to wash your clothes but keep in mind that things will change. There will be that time you will feel that you are making the best sacrifice but no one will appreciate you, not even your spouse. Sickness will come. Fee payment will come. Friends will forsake you, but in the midst of all of you, there is a God to rely on.

You have just made the first serious mistake by looking at life to be one-sided. By depending on your strength, material things, and others, you have made the first mistake. If we should succeed, must depend on Jesus as the author and finisher of our faith.

Wish you a prosperous New Year, 2025

The word of the Lord, Amen!

Text: Mark 10:47 - 52
(Restructured Text: Mark 8:22-26)

Preacher: Deacon Mulbah Sulon
Interpreter: Deacon Paye Q Malata

Theme: " Don't Go Back"

The text read as in Mark 10:47-52 was an introduction to what we will do today. We are pulsed to delve into today's topic, beginning it from different verses in a chapter from the same book of Mark contrary to the one read. We deliberately did not go to our actual text, though not different from the one read, so that people could not feel weak with the text and the option to leave.

Interestingly enough, the verses read were meant to show us some of the many wonders and miracles Jesus performed while preaching the Gospel of His Father who is in heaven. In the book of Mark, Jesus restored the sight of two men as recorded. The first incident is there, but the second incident was read today (Mark 10:47 - 52).

From these two incidents, we will hear and learn about Jesus's first encounter with a blind man and how he helped him restore his sight. Praise God - Amen!

To coin this message to be clear and understandable, pointing to something that you can take home, we will speak on the theme: "Don't Go Back." Don't ever in your life return to the past. The Bible mentioned exactly where the former blind man was asked by Jesus not to return, however you know what your area/s is/are. Praise God - Amen!

Alright, as said, our "restructured text" is recorded in Mark 8: 22- 26. It says: " Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him. So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything. And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.” Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone. Then He sent him away to his house, saying, “Neither go into the town nor tell anyone in the town.”

As read, Jesus was on a walking tour along with his disciples. Then his disciples asked what could be their benefits since they left all of what they had doing and followed him. Jesus answered with a hope of a good reward for each of them... This was a similar tour they were on when he encountered the blind man. He encountered the blind man in a town called Bethsaida. Then we understood that Jesus saw this blind man who had come from another town to meet Jesus in this town. The story goes in verse 23 of Mark 8 that Jesus held the blind man by his hand and walked him out of that town.

Fast forward, Jesus spit on his hand and placed it in the man's eyes then He asked him, "Can you see?". In response, the man said, "Yes I can see men like trees, walking.” Praise God - Amen!

At the time you and I accepted Jesus in our lives, some changes occurred at that point. There were some strange things they explained to us that were our doings. However, at the time we had experienced Jesus in our lives, we taught ourselves as to whether we could hold on to the new persons in us. Praise God - Amen!

We that have accepted the word of God, how are we being classified? We are termed as stupid people, aren't we? So if you follow Jesus newly then you hear people say: It is not good evil for evil; it is good to forgive. That is when you are right, but the other party fails to accept, you should be concerned even if it costs you to beg; it is always good to give; it is not good to cut off speeches from people, and the list goes on.

In our certain, by then, our parents taught us through initiation. They would put water in their jabs and sprinkle it on us(at a young age) and say, "If your friend man tells you to hold it from me, say give it to me in return". This act was meant to instill violence in us. It was meant to inform us that we shouldn't say sorry to any of our friends. It was meant to instill pride and not give up on anyone. This was the lesson by then.

Today, the word of God is telling us to talk different trench. We should have a renewed mind and approach to things when they unfold. Taking the trench of fire-for-fire, as we were taught by them, means you want to take a step towards the old days.

Then, in verse 24, Jesus laid his hands on the man's eyes for the second time, and the man said I can see clearly. Jesus said go home and don't go back to that town again.

Now, what is that town that you want to go to? I mean what is that town that Jesus has forbidden you not to go to? Why are you hesitant about going back to that village? What is so special about that town? Ok, your 'village' may be to gossip about others; it might be putting people's heads together and confusing everywhere. The good news is Jesus is saying now that I have opened your eyes, desist from those things. Don't go back to them any longer.

It goes further to say yours might be fornication or adultery, but since you have known Jesus and have been baptized, there is no need to go back to that old village of fornication or adultery. Praise God - Amen!

Sometimes yours might be drankardness. Once you don't drink, you are never satisfied. But is saying don't go back there. Make your friends feel proud of you. Praise God - Amen!

Lying is a major sin. Isn't it? Yes, it is. Worse of all, the phone calls have increased the level of lies people tell without a little remorse.

Once upon a time. A boy lied to me some years back. What got me ignored was I didn't ask him to do so. He didn't just lie, but he made me stay here in Gbarnga for a month waiting for him. He had called earlier telling me that he was sending bags of kernel cake to Ganta and that he could give me one hundred bags to sell and repay him. Looking at the business, I opted to wait since I would do it before sending his money. To cut the story short, I didn't see the items from that day up to now. It was at Free Port I met him after some time. He was ashamed when he saw me. I didn't do anything because I was already in Christ. Had it been those days, hmmmmm? I leave it. 😃

With all these misspellings we get from people, without taking any action, they class us as stupid people in society, our community, and workplaces. Jesus told the man go back to your home don't go back to that town. Jesus knew that the town he met the former blind man was not the man's home and so that is why he told him not to go there but to go to his home. Praise God - Amen!

Today, Jesus is advising us not to go back to the town we were in when we got baptized anymore. You know yours. You know that village you were when Jesus rescued you, don't go back there again. Like others, your town may be making family members go against one another. With this word of God, think about your mind. Don't measure it with others.

After you had left that town where you were when the Lord captured you, how did your life become? Praise God - Amen!

As a preacher man standing right before you, if I had not left the town I was, then by now, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to have groups around me, even at home. It was not like I served worldly gods or had medicine in my possession. No that was not the case. But I came out as a young and shining guy who didn't want to take responsibility. Taking responsibility was my worst enemy. Sometimes I may say it was so because I didn't know anything. Probably I was a youngster then. That was my village. But when I went to Kpilipkala, I met a man who didn't know much about the Bible, but the one verse he read to me made me the point I am today. Praise God - Amen!

Do you want to go back to the old town? Jesus is saying don't go back there. Sometimes you might say I want to go there and come back and reunite with Jesus. Do you know that darkness comes to people? Yes, it does. The darkness is not the one that comes and sends us to bed. It is the one that brings death, sickness, and hard times. Don't try to go back because you might just remain there, and darkness will take you unaware. The stories pointing to this are too many. We can see untimely deaths through accidents and you name it.

Are you still insisting on going back to that old town? While you were there, what did you get from there? Now that Jesus has opened your eyes, then, you want to place one-day enjoyment over the lasting enjoyment in heaven, where you will live and celebrate with angels. What is your problem? Why do you want to move back? Let me tell you that the old town is not good for you. We continue to emphasize that your town might vary. Yours might be mean. Some people are not mean with food but they do it with greetings. They hardly speak and they hardly answer greetings. Yours may be your home - when you are at home, you are not angry and grieved, but when you are out there, the case is the reverse.

Those are what Jesus saw and said you should be baptized. Now that you have changed from being rude, making people go loggerheads with each other, making enemies, gossiping with people, and not forgiving people to a new creature in Christ, Jesus is saying; please don't go back to those old styles of living.

Are you going back? That old town is not good for people. Stop thinking about returning there. Jesus is speaking to us to turn away from the old town and turn and remain with him.

The word of the Living God, Amen!
