“Vocation is a sacred calling from God, inviting each of us to walk a unique path of service, love, and holiness in Christ.”

Every vocation begins with a listening heart and a willingness to follow God’s plan with faith and courage. The Lord continues to call young men and women to serve His people and to become witnesses of His love in the world.

May we continue to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life, that more hearts may respond generously to the voice of Christ.

🔴 Unveiling Our Official Seminary Logo

With great joy, gratitude and a spirit of faith, we proudly present the official logo of St. Joseph Vaz Minor Seminary – Diocese of Trincomalee.

This logo is not merely an image but a profound expression of our identity, spirituality and mission as a seminary community.

• At the heart of the logo stands the Cross of Christ, the source and summit of our vocation. It reminds every seminarian that Christ is the foundation of our life, formation and future priestly ministry. Everything begins and ends in Him.

• The path leading toward the Cross symbolizes the journey of formation - step by step, day by day -through which young men are called, guided and shaped to follow Christ more closely. It is a journey rooted in prayer, discipline, study and service.

• The figures walking together represent our seminary community - brothers in formation -growing in unity, faith and mutual support. Formation is a shared journey, lived in communion.

• The image of St. Joseph Vaz, our heavenly patron and the Apostle of Sri Lanka, reminds us of his missionary zeal and deep love for the Church. His life continues to inspire us to be courageous and faithful missionaries in today’s world.

• The blue background expresses peace, depth, and trust in God’s providence, while the symbols of the Holy Spirit signify His constant guidance and strength throughout our formation journey.

• The laurel branches represent spiritual growth, perseverance, and the hope of victory in Christ through faithful commitment to our vocation.

• Our mission is beautifully captured in the Gospel mandate:
“Go and Make Disciples” (Mt 28:19)

• Established in 2013, St. Joseph Vaz Minor Seminary continues its mission of forming young men to serve God and His people with dedication, humility and love.

May this logo always remind us of our identity, our calling, and our mission as disciples of Christ.

St. Joseph Vaz, pray for us!
Our Lady of Lanka, guide us!

I extend my sincere thanks to Charith Thilakaratne for designing this logo under my guidance as Rector of the Minor Seminary.
