PHOTOS | A joyful glimpse into our Dominican Family in Sri Lanka during the Solemn Feast of Our Holy Father Saint Dominic de Guzman on 8th August 2026 with the beloved Master of the Order of Preachers, Br. Gerard Francisco P. Timoner III, OP. The Dominican Family in Sri Lanka is composed of Dominican friars, active sisters, namely, Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena and Dominican Sisters of Malta, and the Lay Dominicans- Sri Lanka, with chapters, and chapters-in-formation in Nagoda, Moratuwa, Kandy, Muhudukatuwa, and Marawila.

LOOK | The Dominican Family in Sri Lanka was truly blessed to have Br. Gerard Francisco P. Timoner III, OP, the Master of the Order, celebrate with them the Holy Feast of Our Holy Father Dominic de Guzman. The Dominican friars, sisters, and lay fraternity gathered together at the Our Lady of Purification Parish Church, Bolawalana for the Eucharistic celebration.
In his homily, Br. Timoner highlighted that, as Dominicans, we are sent to preach. This entails three reminders: traveling light, shaking the dust off of one's feet, and being lunar ministers like Dominic who is the Lumen Ecclesiae (Light of the Church) because he constantly mirrors Jesus Christ, the Lumen Gentium (Light of the Nations).
