This Amman temple is located at the centre of the Valluvarpuram village and the Puthukudiyiruppu AGA division in Mullaittivu district, Sri Lanka

The temple was founded by Mr. Kathirvelu Kuruswamy Sasthiriyar in 1978 with the help of the villagers to help those who were affected by the then ongoing ethnic civil war in 1977. Rajendram Ramiah (Canada) brought an Amman statue from Mahabalipuram (Indi

a) and established it in the temple and built a Kandamani (Big Bell). Balakumar Valayutham generously donated speakers and an electricity generator. The temple was partially damaged in 2009 because of the civil war and now, in 2012, villagers, well-wishers and the board of directors are getting ready to rebuild the temple according to “Agama” rules.
