Isha Athul Islam Orphanage Isha Athul Islam Home for the Orphans is located at Isha Athul Islam Mawatha, Dharga Town in Beruwala electorate, Sri Lanka.

The Isha Athul Islam Home for Orphans was established in the year 1979 with 16 Orphans in a rented house at Dharga Town. At present 196 Orphans, belonging to different categories are being cared by our institution. Alhamdulillah we are now located in our own Home in a 1.39 Acres of land. The experience we gained, the needs of the change of the attitudes of the community, have directed us to look a

t child caring in different perspectives. In addition to institutional care we have extended services to home of the respective children, by looking after the sisters of the resident Orphans. Further, female orphans from different part of the country are being helped to continue higher education in respective schools in the locality. And some of the Orphans are placed in vocational training institutions or higher educational institutions and financially supported to continue their education and training. We save 30% of the fund received from Baithuz Zakath Kuwait, to assist past orphans to help them in their career. Most of the resident Orphans have successfully completed computer, technical and school education. They have acquired special achievements in Holy Quran and Al Hathees recital and memorizing and the religious education. some of them have successfully completed the Islamic and Art degree graduation at higher educational institutions. More over, some of them are successfully employed both at government and private sector.

Ramadan Kareem! U.S. Embassy Colombo celebrated Iftar with children at the Isha-Athul-Islam-Home, a boys orphanage in Dharga Town, Aluthgama. Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Nicole A. Chulick and other American officials joined the children to break the fast, celebrating the Ramadan season together in the spirit of friendship and interfaith harmony.
