Shaytan's discussion with Prophet Musa (عليه الصلاة والسلام)

Once, Shaytan approached Musa (عليه الصلاة والسلام) and said to him: You are the Prophet of Allah while I am one of His sinning and disobedient creations. It is my desire that I repent before Him, so request Him to accept my repentance. Musa (عليه الصلاة والسلام) agreed and prayed for him, whereupon Allah said: O Musa! I shall accept your intercession for him. Tell him to prostrate upon Adam’s grave in order that I accept his repentance. Musa (عليه الصلاة والسلام) met Shaytan and said: Prostrating upon Adam’s grave shall cause your repentance to be accepted. Hearing this, Satan said: I did not prostrate before Adam when he was alive, how can I prostrate upon his grave now that he is dead? I shall never do such a thing! Then continuing, he said: O Musa! Since you interceded for me before Allah you have obliged me. I shall advise you to be wary of me in three places in order that you do not face damnation and ruin.

First: During anger; for in that state my soul is in your heart and my eyes into yours and I flow in you like your blood flows.

Second: During a battle (Jihad); for in that state I cause the soldiers to remember their wives, children and relatives in order that they turn back from the battle and flee away.

Third: Never sit with a non-mahram (stranger) woman in one place for I shall whisper temptations into both of you.

In the entire world, Islam is the religion that chose and presented the four Caliphs (Sahabas).

If we look at the nature of these Sahabas, how were their character traits?

There were two with a gentle nature:
1. Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA)
2. Uthman (RA)

There were two brave Sahabas:
1. Umar (RA)
2. Ali (RA)

When the Sahabas possessed such qualities, why shouldn't the character of the world's Muslims be like them? Because... the heritage (genes) of the Sahabas certainly exists within us.

• Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) & Uthman (RA): The character of these two was gentleness, peace, patience, modesty, wisdom, tranquility, and reconciliation. All of these were their natural attributes.

• Umar (RA) & Ali (RA): Their character was valor, military prowess, and an era of victory. They never retreated once they stepped forward. They possessed visionary thinking and were oceans of knowledge. They conquered vast territories on the battlefield.
These are the distinct character traits of the four Caliphs. When this is so, why shouldn't the Muslim people, who emerged from that same tradition, possess the traits of both groups? Until the end of time, the character traits of the Sahabas will definitely remain within mankind.

These virtues are indeed the delightful qualities of Islam.

To cultivate this...

There is a word called "El". Let me explain it clearly. In names like Ismail, Israil (Israel), Mikail (Michael), and Jibril (Gabriel) - Jibrail, the suffix "El" is a Hebrew term that signifies the "One God."
In the ancient land of Canaan (modern-day Palestine), peoples such as the Canaanites, Philistines, and Jebusites used this word "El" to denote the one Almighty God amidst their pantheon of many deities.
I will explain how this word "El" is used with a few examples.
A prophet named Shamwil (Samuel) was sent to the Israelites. His name conveys the meaning "Sami'allahu Dua'i" — "Allah has heard my prayer" (Reference: Ibn Kathir's Al-Bidaya wan-Nihaya, Vol 3, Page 106). This name is closely related to the name Ismail.
There was a town in Palestine called Bethel. In Arabic, this is referred to as "Baitul El," meaning "House of God." The Romans called Al-Quds (Jerusalem) "Aelia," meaning "City of God." Linguistic experts state that the Hebrew word "El" evolved into "Eli" or "Eloi" in Aramaic (the language Prophet Isa/Jesus is believed to have spoken), and this corresponds to "Ilah" in Arabic.
The scriptural languages of the Middle East—Hebrew, Aramaic, and Arabic—are closely related to one another. Just as the Dravidian languages (Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam) are sister languages, so too are these Middle Eastern languages. The Hebrew language had nearly vanished by the time of the Prophet Muhammad. It was only around 1890 that Jews began the work of reviving Hebrew. Current Modern Hebrew has liberally borrowed vocabulary from the Arabic language.
For many years, I have been writing about a specific topic on Facebook regarding Muslim names. Most of the names Muslims use today are not actually Arabic names. Major examples include Ibrahim, Ismail, and Ishaq; these are ancient Hebrew names. The name Ibrahim is the Arabic version of a Hebrew name (linked to Av Ram/Ab Raham). It means "Merciful Father" or "Father of many nations." As mentioned earlier, Ismail means "God accepted my call." Similarly, we often name children after Israelite prophets who spoke Hebrew, assuming they are Arabic names. There is nothing wrong with this; it is just a piece of information.
Here are some examples:
• Ibrahim | Hebrew | Avram or Av Raham | Father of many nations | "Ab" means Father, "Raham" means multitude or many. This is later associated with Abu Rahim (Merciful Father).
• Ismail | Hebrew | Yishma′ ’El | God hears (my call/prayer) | A combination of "Yishma" (He hears) and "El" (God).
• Ishaq | Hebrew | Yitzchak | He will laugh | "According to Jewish scriptural records, the name was given because his mother or father laughed when they learned about his birth."
• Musa | Egyptian-Hebrew | Moshe | Taken from water | "This is also an Arabized name."
There are numerous similarities between these languages. If we examine them with neutrality, we can discover astonishing truths.

History Speaks..!

"The Chronicle"

Abu Jahl roared, "Whoever brings me the head of Muhammad shall be gifted 100 red camels!"

A young man from the crowd stood up and declared, "I will finish that task." He was none other than Umar (RA), the nephew of Abu Jahl.

As Umar was walking swiftly with his sword, Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (RA) saw him and guessed his intentions.

"Umar! Where are you going?" he asked.
Umar replied, "I am going to kill the man who has turned this peaceful Arab land into a place of unrest."

The companion asked, "Even if he brings the truth, would you kill him?"

Umar retorted, "By your words, it seems you have joined his religion. I shall kill you first, and then Muhammad!" and he drew his sword.
As Sa'd also drew his sword, and while they were about to clash, he said, "Umar! First, go and set your own house in order, then go to settle the story of Muhammad."
"What wrong has my family done?" Umar asked.

"Your sister and her husband have accepted Islam," he revealed.

Umar’s anger turned towards his family. He went straight to their home and knocked on the door. Realizing it was her brother, his sister told her husband, Khabbab (RA), to hide.
When the door was opened, Umar asked, "I heard some sound here; what was it?"
"My husband and I were just talking," she replied.

"No, you are lying!" he shouted. He turned his sword around and struck his sister’s head with its hilt.

As blood dripped from her head, she held the blood in her hand and defiantly asked, "Yes, my husband and I have embraced Islam. What can you do to us?" Even Khabbab (RA), who was hiding, received a blow.

Seeing the blood, Umar’s anger subsided, and he felt ashamed of how he had treated his sister.

His eyes fell upon a copy of the Quran that had been dropped in the haste. When he tried to pick it up, his sister stopped him, saying, "You are impure. You must perform 'Wudu' (ablution) before touching it." She snatched the script away.

Umar (RA) bathed, returned, and took the script. He read the verses from Surah Taha (20:14), beginning with: "Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me..."
Upon reading this, he burst into tears.
Seeing this, Khabbab (RA) came out and said, "O Umar! Last night, the Prophet (PBUH) prayed, 'O Allah, strengthen Islam by [converting] whichever of the two men—Abu Jahl or Umar—is more beloved to You.' Today, Allah has accepted that prayer and chosen you."

Umar went straight to the Prophet (PBUH) and accepted Islam. The Sahaba (companions) around them shouted "Allahu Akbar" in joy.
Umar (RA) then went directly to Abu Jahl’s house and knocked. When the door opened, Abu Jahl saw Umar standing outside and said, "O son of my sister! May your arrival be good. Have you finished Muhammad's story?"
"No," Umar replied. "I have joined his religion. I came only to tell you that."

Hearing this, Abu Jahl became furious. "May your arrival be cursed! Go to ruin!" he shouted and slammed the door shut.

From that day on, Umar followed the Prophet (PBUH) like a shadow. It was only after Umar (RA) converted that Muslims began to pray openly at the Kaaba.

He loved the Prophet (PBUH) so much that he could not bear even a speck of dust falling upon him.
