With significant changes to the constitution been done during the past annual Methodist Conferences,the youth representation has increased in different levels of decision making. It is also important to note that the
Churches that have entrusted responsibility to the youth are definitely witnessing a renewal of growth in their respective Churches. Direction of the Youth Department
The Youth Department will be mainly focusing on the areas of building the leadership qualities of the youth and formulate programmes and projects to empower and strengthen them. Raising awareness on various issues that are faced by the youth of the modern world, Carrier guidance,and assistance in vocational training are some of the needs of present days. The Youth department is also focusing on programmes on reconciliation, Justice and peace building in order to build the strength and fellowship amongst the youth of both the Ethnic groups of the Methodist Church, Sri Lanka. It is also important that we encourage our youth in all our programmes to be concerned about the society while they take steps to grow in spiritual life.
