In Loving Memory of Rt. Rev. Cletus Chandrasiri Perera, OSB

With deep sorrow, the National Seminary Community mourns the passing of our beloved Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Ratnapura.

We remember with gratitude his faithful service to the Church and his loving pastoral presence. May the Risen Christ welcome him into eternal life and grant him everlasting peace.

May his soul rest in eternal peace. 🙏

A memorable evening of celebration, gratitude, and achievement as we gathered for the 18th Award Ceremony of The Integral Education Centre at the Sackett Auditorium, National Seminary.

We were honoured by the gracious presence of our Chief Guests, Mr. & Mrs. Peter M***a, whose participation made this occasion even more special.

We give thanks to God for the talents and dedication of our students, and we congratulate all the award recipients for their outstanding accomplishments. Our sincere appreciation goes to the Rev. Father Moderator, Brothers of the Teaching Staff, distinguished guests, parents, and everyone who contributed to the success of this joyful occasion.

May these achievements inspire our students to continue striving for excellence with wisdom, humility, and service.

With hearts full of gratitude and joy, we celebrated the Marian Feast 2026 together with the Silver Jubilee of Sacerdotal Ordination and Birthday of Very Rev. Fr. Quintus Fernando, Rector of the National Seminary.

The Thanksgiving Holy Mass and the solemn procession with the statue of Our Blessed Mother became a beautiful witness of faith, prayer, and devotion. May Mother Mary continue to guide and protect our Seminary family, and may God bless Rev. Fr. Quintus Fernando abundantly as he celebrates 25 years of faithful priestly service.

🕊️ Institution of Lectors and Acolytes 🕊️

Today, on the Solemnity of Pentecost, we praise and thank God for the young men who took a significant step forward in their journey toward the priesthood.

The Solemn Eucharistic Celebration for the Institution of Readers and Acolytes was held today, 24th May 2026, at The National Seminary of Our Lady of Lanka in Ampitiya, Kandy.

The sacred liturgy was presided over by the Most Revd. Dr. J.D. Anthony Jayakody, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Colombo.

Please join us in praying for these newly instituted Lectors and Acolytes as they commit to deeper service to the Word of God and the Holy Altar.

May the Holy Spirit guide and strengthen them in their vocation!
