🕊️ Institution of Lectors and Acolytes 🕊️

Today, on the Solemnity of Pentecost, we praise and thank God for the young men who took a significant step forward in their journey toward the priesthood.

The Solemn Eucharistic Celebration for the Institution of Readers and Acolytes was held today, 24th May 2026, at The National Seminary of Our Lady of Lanka in Ampitiya, Kandy.

The sacred liturgy was presided over by the Most Revd. Dr. J.D. Anthony Jayakody, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Colombo.

Please join us in praying for these newly instituted Lectors and Acolytes as they commit to deeper service to the Word of God and the Holy Altar.

May the Holy Spirit guide and strengthen them in their vocation!

The Annual Inter-House Sports Meet 2026 of The National Seminary of Our Lady of Lanka, Kandy was successfully concluded with great enthusiasm, unity, and sportsmanship. ✨

We were truly honoured by the gracious presence of
Rev. Fr. Rohitha Rodrigo,
Rector of St. Peter’s College, Colombo 04,
who joined us as the Chief Guest for this memorable occasion.

Held on Thursday, 07th May 2026 at the National Seminary Grounds, the event became a beautiful celebration of brotherhood, teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. 🏃‍♂️🏅🔥

With hearts full of joy and gratitude, we thank everyone who contributed to making this event a great success.

In every age, God calls men and women to follow Him—serving, loving, and witnessing His grace. A vocation is not just personal; it is a gift for the whole Church and a blessing for the world.

This Vocation Sunday, let us renew our responsibility to pray, encourage, and support those discerning their call. May we help create spaces where young hearts can hear God’s voice and respond with courage and generosity.

Let us remember in a special way our seminarians in Ampitiya, Jaffna, and Kalutara, who are journeying in faith and formation. Walk with them through your prayers, your kindness, and your support.

May our families be the first seeds of vocation, our communities places of guidance, and our Church a home where every calling is nurtured and celebrated.

“Here I am, Lord; send me.”
