Written by Isaac Watts in the early 1700s, “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” remains one of the most powerful hymns ever written about Calvary and the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. This timeless hymn draws the believer’s heart back to the cross, reminding us of the great price that was paid for our redemption.

As we reflect on the words of this hymn, we are reminded that salvation was not purchased with silver or gold, but through the precious blood of Christ. The cross is more than a symbol of suffering. It is the greatest demonstration of God’s holiness, love, mercy, and grace toward sinful man.

“When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of Glory died...”

In a world that often grows cold toward spiritual things, this hymn calls believers to pause and consider the wonder of Calvary once again. The more we behold the cross, the more we are reminded that Christ gave everything for us. Such love should stir our hearts toward humility, gratitude, surrender, and faithful service to the Lord.

“Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.”

May we never lose the wonder of the cross or grow careless toward the sacrifice that purchased our salvation. Let us keep our eyes fixed upon Christ and live each day in thankful remembrance of what He accomplished at Calvary.

Romans 8:32 declares that God “spared not his own Son,” but willingly gave Him for us all. What a humbling reminder of both the holiness of God and the depth of His love toward sinful man. The cross was not a small matter. Salvation came at the highest cost, the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In 2 Peter 2:4-6, Scripture reminds us that God did not spare the angels that sinned, the world in Noah’s day, or the wicked cities of S***m and Gomorrha. These examples stand as solemn warnings that God takes sin seriously and that His judgment is real.

Yet in the midst of these truths, we also see the mercy and grace of God extended to those who will repent and believe. In a world that grows increasingly careless toward sin and spiritual things, believers are reminded to examine their hearts, walk closely with the Lord, and remain thankful for the salvation Christ purchased on Calvary.

This message challenges us to reflect on the seriousness of sin, the certainty of God’s judgment, and the incredible grace found in Jesus Christ. May it stir our hearts to live with reverence, gratitude, and a renewed desire to draw nearer to God.

Join us for our 41st Anniversary Service as we gather for a meaningful time of worship, fellowship, and thanksgiving.

We are also honoured to welcome our special guest speaker, Pastor Roy Seals, who will be bringing the message during this memorable celebration.

Come expecting a blessed time as we reflect on God’s goodness through the years and look ahead with grateful hearts for all that He has in store.

The Book of Ruth reminds us that no matter how difficult life may become, God is still faithful to His people. Naomi experienced tremendous loss and sorrow, yet in the midst of adversity she continued on toward Bethlehem, back to the place where God’s blessing and provision could be found. Though her circumstances were painful, her focus was not to remain in Moab, but to return to the Lord’s place of blessing.

“𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒅𝒐 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒍𝒚.”

What a powerful truth for every believer. Trials can easily cause us to become discouraged, bitter, or consumed with the cares of this world, but God’s Word teaches us to keep our eyes on eternal things. When our focus remains on the Lord instead of our circumstances, we are reminded that God is still in control and His plan is always perfect.

Naomi may not have understood everything God was doing at the time, but the Lord was already preparing a future far greater than she could imagine. Through faith, obedience, and perseverance, Ruth was brought into the very lineage of the Lord Jesus Christ. What began in heartbreak became a testimony of God’s grace, redemption, and divine favour.

No matter what burden you may carry today, keep trusting God. Stay faithful. Keep your focus on the heavenly, and remember that the Lord never fails His children.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the sisters in Christ who labour so faithfully for the cause of Christ and the home.

Today, we honour the high calling of motherhood and the many godly women who exemplify the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31. We are so thankful for those who seek to raise the next generation in the "nurture and admonition of the Lord."

As we celebrate, we recognise that Mother's Day may be difficult for some. We lift up those carrying heavy burdens today, praying that you find your strength in the "God of all comfort" and peace in His perfect will. Whether you are a mother by birth, by adoption, or a "spiritual mother" serving faithfully in our Sunday School ministry, your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

"𝘏𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘶𝘱, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥; 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘦𝘳." - Proverbs 31:28

May the Lord strengthen you today, and may we all find our greatest joy in walking according to His Truth.
