Jesus Is All You Need 🙏🏾👏🏾

Don’t be deceived into thinking the “things” of this world will make you happy. They won’t! It’s not wealth or fame that bring peace and contentment. Far from it! Look around you, and you’ll see evidence of plenty of rich and famous people who are absolutely miserable! Without God, you will never experience real joy and happiness! Jesus is all you need! When you are tired, mentally exhausted, and feel like giving up, God promises in Exodus 33:14, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” When you feel like a failure and the mountains seem impossible to climb, Jesus reassures you in Matthew 19:26, “With God all things are possible.” When you are thirsty, Jesus promises in John 7:38, “Whoever believes in me, as the Scriptures have said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” And when you are discouraged, heartbroken, and too weak to take another step, Jesus will carry you. Yes! Carry you! This comforting scripture found in Isaiah 46:4 says it all: “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you, and I will rescue you.” The more time you spend in God’s presence, your heart will truly know that... Jesus is all you need!

Prolonging the Inevitable 🙏🏾

Sometimes your workload may seem so overwhelming that you just can’t seem to muster the energy to tackle the task. It is easier to push it into the abyss of tomorrow and relax, not having to think about it. But pushing it onto the next day doesn’t make it go away. It only prolongs the inevitable. The dirty dishes will still need to be washed, the lawn still needs to be mowed, and the report that is due at work still needs to be written. Procrastination will not only keep you from accomplishing your tasks, but it will also prevent you from experiencing the deep sense of satisfaction that comes from a job well done. You’ll be in a constant state of “dread” knowing that what you don’t do today... has to be done tomorrow. Putting something off does not make it go away; it only allows more time to torment you. The Bible says in Proverbs 3:27-28, “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, ‘Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you’—when you already have it with you.” In other words, don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today! Pray for strength and courage to grab the bull by the horns and go forward with God’s strength. Remember that courage is not the lack of fear, but the ability to face it.
