The 68th pilgrimage of the to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of has come to a close.

This year, the Order of Malta Korea joined with a contingent of 10 members, walking alongside pilgrims from around the world in prayer, service, and quiet solidarity.

We were especially grateful to welcome our Chaplain, Fr. John Pak, who joined the Lourdes pilgrimage for the first time, and to be accompanied once again by Monsignor Agostino Han and Fr. Marco Kim from the Vatican.

From solemn processions to moments of grace at the Grotto of Massabielle, the pilgrimage was marked not only by its liturgical depth, but by encounters—humble, human, and profound—with Our Lords the Sick.

With gratitude for all who served, supported, and journeyed together, we return carrying what Lourdes always leaves us with: a renewed sense of purpose, and a quieter, deeper faith.

This year, ten contingents from the Order of Malta Korea are taking part in the Lourdes pilgrimage.

He is risen.

In the quiet of the empty tomb, hope was restored and love overcame all darkness.

This Easter, may the light of the Resurrection renew our hearts and guide us to serve with compassion, humility, and unwavering faith.

As members and friends of the Order of Malta, may we continue to stand beside the sick and the poor, bearing witness to hope where it is needed most.

Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed and peaceful Easter.🙏🏻

On this Third Sunday of Lent, Order of Malta Korea gathered for our March Monthly Mass at the Cardinal’s Residence Chapel, celebrated by His Eminence Cardinal Andrew Yeom.

Our Chaplain, Fr. John Pak, delivered a Lenten reflection on the “living water” from John 4:5–42, inviting us into a deeper time of prayer and contemplation.

Following the Mass, the OMK General Assembly approved the 2025 financial report and the 2026 activity plan. As we enter our 11th year together, we renew our commitment to serve the sick and the poor with faith, humility, and charity.

Today, the 2026 Order of Malta Korea (OMK) Workshop was held at the Maria Lecture Hall of the Institute for the Ongoing Formation of Priests, together with Confrere Daniel Kwok, Vice President of the Australian Association of the Order of Malta.

This workshop, which included a dedicated session of spiritual formation, was a meaningful step in deepening our identity and mission as a true religious lay order. Through prayer, reflection, and shared dialogue, participants were invited to renew their commitment to the spiritual foundations that guide our service to the poor and the sick.

We are grateful for Confrere Daniel Kwok’s presence, leadership and insights, and for the opportunity to strengthen fraternal bonds within the global Order of Malta community.

We gathered at the Chapel of the Bishop’s House in Hyehwa-dong for February OMK Mass, celebrated by Fr. John the Apostle Gi-seok Pak.

Reflecting on the Gospel, “You are the light of the world,” Fr. John offered a homily that resonated deeply with members of the Order of Malta—a reminder that our vocation is not only to serve quietly, but to allow that service to become a visible light for others.

With Lunar New Year just around the corner, the presence of children dressed in hanbok filled the chapel with joy and warmth, giving the Mass a truly family-like atmosphere. Faith, service, and community came together in a way that felt both intimate and hopeful.

Grateful for this shared moment of prayer as we continue our mission together.

On the morning of the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, Order of Malta Korea’s members, candidates, aspirants, and families gathered for the first OMK Monthly Mass of the New Year at the small chapel of the Labor Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese of Seoul.

The Mass was celebrated by Fr. John the Baptist Sang-Hyuk Yoo, Chairman of the Migrant Pastoral Committee of the Archdiocese of Seoul. As Order of Malta Korea is also a partner of the Migrant Pastoral Committee in commemorating the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, this Eucharistic celebration held special meaning for our community.

In his homily, Fr. Yoo reflected on the profound significance of the Lord’s Baptism and what it means for all of us who live our daily lives as baptized Catholics. He reminded us that baptism is not only the beginning of our faith, but also a lifelong call to witness—to live as models of Christ’s love, humility, and service, especially toward the most vulnerable among us.

As we begin this new year, we entrust our mission and our community once again to the Lord, praying that we may faithfully live out our baptismal calling through concrete acts of charity and solidarity with our migrant and refugee neighbors.

On this Third Sunday of Advent (Gaudete Sunday)—a day that calls us to rejoice through love in action—Order of Malta Korea delivered the donated goods lovingly gathered by our members during the recent Advent Mass and Retreat to Bethany House.

These offerings, brought from each member’s home, are a concrete expression of our commitment to accompany migrant and refugee communities as our closest neighbors. This initiative is part of OMK’s ongoing program of charity, through which we collect and deliver essential daily necessities whenever our members gather for major Masses or retreats.

More than a one-time gesture, this practice invites our members to keep migrant and refugee families in mind in their everyday lives, setting aside basic necessities and food items whenever possible, and allowing charity to become a quiet, steady rhythm of daily faith.

The Gospel reminds us:

“Whoever has two cloaks should share with the person who has none, and whoever has food should do likewise.”
(Luke 3:11)

As we continue our journey toward Christmas, may our joy be made visible through simple acts of sharing, and may love take shape in what we choose to give.

On December 10, we set out to share the joy of Christmas with the children of migrant families, becoming Santa for a day alongside Fr. John Yoo (Baptist) from the Archdiocese of Seoul’s Migrant Pastoral Committee. We visited Magone Study Room and Bethlehem Children’s Home, bringing armfuls of treats the children love — snacks and drinks prepared especially for them.

At Magone, we offered encouragement to the hardworking students whose dedication truly inspires us. At Bethlehem, the little ones took turns sitting on Santa’s lap, receiving a blessing and a small chocolate gift. When the children responded by singing Christmas hymns, it was deeply moving. We went hoping to share love, and instead received far more in return.

This visit was part of the Order of Malta Korea’s Advent outreach to our migrant neighbors. Our heartfelt thanks to Andrea Nam, who brought Santa to life with such warmth, and to Gratia Lee, our project champion who thoughtfully prepared and delivered every gift.

A simple gesture, yet a day filled with grace, joy, and the quiet reminder that love always returns multiplied.

On this Second Sunday of Advent — a journey that moves from Hope to Peace, to Love, and finally to Joy — the Order of Malta Korea gathered at Seongbundo “Garden of Grace” for the Advent Mass and Retreat.

Presided by OMK Chaplain Fr. John Ki-seok Pak, the retreat unfolded under the theme “The Lullaby of Our Lady,” with a meditation on Psalm 121 and a reflection on God’s invitation to begin anew each day:
that every sunrise is His steadfast act of continuing creation,
every newborn child a sign of His hope for humanity,
every beautiful marriage a reminder that love is stronger than hatred,
and every new morning an opportunity for grace.

It was a time of quiet renewal and spiritual clarity, opening hearts to the subtle ways God restores hope in the rhythm of daily life.

May this Advent season draw each of us deeper into the light that is coming into the world.
