Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:3)
The story is told of a church in Kentucky that had a roof painted half green and half red.
It seems that the church members argued for years over what color the roof should be painted, and eventually each side got its way.
In the end, the surrounding community wondered, “If they cannot even get along with each other, what good is the Gospel?”
The local church is a place of transformation where God reshapes us.
- He teaches us to love when people are difficult.
- He teaches us to forgive when we have been hurt.
- He teaches us to serve when no one notices.
- He teaches us to receive grace and to extend it to others.
This kind of spiritual formation happens within the body of Christ, where ordinary believers learn to walk with Jesus together.
