What a glorious Sabbath it was as more than 2,000 women from across the Western Kenya Conference gathered at the Conference Headquarters in Webuye for the WKC Women Centre of Influence Grand Fundraiser.

United by a shared vision of service, empowerment, and community transformation, women from every corner of the Conference came together in an atmosphere filled with worship, fellowship, joy, and unwavering commitment to God's mission.

By God's grace and through the generosity of His people, an incredible Ksh. 421,000 was raised in a single day toward the establishment of the WKC Women Centre of Influenceโ€”a project that will serve as a beacon of hope, empowerment, and Christ-centered ministry to countless lives.

The gathering was further enriched by a powerful message from Pr. Roselyne Ayayo, who passionately challenged the congregation to respond to God's call. Drawing from Isaiah 6:8, she reminded attendees that God is still searching for willing hearts that will say:

"Here am I; send me."

Her message inspired women to embrace their divine calling, step out in faith, and become instruments of transformation in their homes, churches, and communities.

The Western Kenya Conference expresses sincere gratitude to all women, church leaders, donors, partners, and well-wishers whose prayers, presence, and contributions made this event a resounding success. The journey has begun, and together we are building more than a facilityโ€”we are building lives for eternity.

The Western Kenya Conference (WKC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, through its Chaplaincy Department, is currently conducting prison camp meetings across various correctional facilities within the conference territory.

This life-transforming mission seeks to share the love of Jesus Christ with inmates, reminding them that no life is beyond God's grace and that every person deserves an opportunity for redemption, restoration, and a better future.

The message being shared is simple yet powerful: as long as God lives, there is hope. With God, no situation is beyond transformation, and no individual is beyond the reach of His saving power.

As part of the initiative, the WKC leadership team, led by Pastor Samuel Mbayi, President of the Western Kenya Conference, Pastor Joseph Namunyu, Chaplaincy Director, and Pastor Naftali Nyongesa, Stewardship Director, visited Busia and Bungoma prisons to assess the progress of the evangelistic meetings and encourage both inmates and chaplaincy teams engaged in the mission.

In a demonstration of Christian compassion and practical ministry, the leadership also donated essential consumables, including soap, to support the welfare of the inmates.

The prison ministry reflects Christ's call to serve the forgotten, uplift the discouraged, and bring hope to those seeking a second chance in life. Through preaching, prayer, counseling, and acts of kindness, the church continues to affirm the dignity and value of every individual regardless of their circumstances.

As these camp meetings continue, prayers are requested for the inmates, prison officers, chaplains, and ministry teams, that many hearts may be touched by the Gospel and experience the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

The West Kenya Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists joins the nation in mourning following the tragic fire incident at Utumishi Girls School.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families who have lost their beloved daughters, to the school administration, teachers, students, and all those affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.

In moments like these, words often fall short. Yet we remain anchored in the assurance that God is near to the brokenhearted and that His love continues to sustain those who grieve.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to give you hope and a future." โ€” Jeremiah 29:11

As a church family, we are praying for healing for the injured, comfort for the bereaved, wisdom for the leadership, and strength for every affected family.

At the age of 99, Elder Daniel Mukhwana has rested in the blessed hope of the resurrection morning.

A man whose footsteps carried the everlasting gospel across villages, generations, and countless souls. A faithful pioneer whose voice tirelessly proclaimed the Fourth Commandment to everyone he encountered.

In 1961, he joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church at Misikhu Main Church. Two years later, together with the late Mzee John Barasa, he pioneered the SDA Church โ€” Lutacho under the then Lwandeti District.

In 1971, he opened yet another mission field at his Ndivisi home, where believers gathered from present-day Webuye to Tongaren for worship. Again, at Mfupi, he pioneered another church that remains standing to this day โ€” becoming a foundation from which churches such as Luuya, Wabukhonyi, Kongoni and others emerged.

His passion for the mission never faded.

In 1994, he greatly influenced the establishment of Kwena Church under the leadership of Pr. Christopher Masinde. He also donated land for Misikhu Central Church, leaving a legacy rooted not in words alone, but in sacrifice for Godโ€™s work.

Elder Mukhwana remained a faithful member of SDA Church โ€” Ndivisi until his final breath.

Beyond ministry, he deeply valued education. He inspired his children to become teachers serving Adventist institutions such as Chebwai and Kamagambo. His love for Christian education lives on through institutions like Advent Junior Academy โ€” Misikhu, established through his family lineage.

Even in his advanced age, he still supported mission work at SDA Church โ€” Flyover (Webuye) through his family led by Tr. Francis Mukhwana.

Today, heaven records the rest of a missionary, a church pioneer, a mentor, a father in Zion, and a steadfast soldier of the cross.

But this is not goodbye forever.
For that glorious morning is coming โ€” when graves shall surrender their captives, when death itself shall die, and when every tear shall be wiped away by the loving hands of Jesus Christ Himself.
