LIVE PICTURES: The burial ceremony of the late Rev. Silvanus Mwakoma is currently underway at Kirutai Village, Mbololo Ward, bringing together clergy, residents ,County Government officials led by the Governor, former Governor, Members of Parliament and Members of the County Assembly.

The final service is being led by our Bishop, Rt. Rev. Liverson Mng’onda, Our diocesan youths Coordinator Rev John Jackson, family, friends, clergy and residents gather to pay their final respects.

Rev. Mwakoma was a man of faith, service and dedication. He faithfully served as a clergyman in the ACK Church, a committed member of the Kenya Anglican Men Association (K**A), and also served the people of Taita Taveta County as Chief Officer for Water during the second County Government administration.

He will be remembered with gratitude for his devoted ministry, dedicated public service and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.

May his legacy of faith and service continue to live on. May he rest in eternal peace.

The final service for the late Rev. Silvanus Mwakoma is now underway, with mourners, clergy, family members, and friends gathered to bid their final farewell to the departed servant of God.

The solemn proceedings have already set sail, as those who knew and loved Rev. Mwakoma come together to celebrate his life, ministry, and lasting legacy.

The Diocese and the family of the late Rev. Silvanus Mwakoma will today, Wednesday, 12th August 2026, proceed with the final journey of the departed clergy.

According to the programme, the cortege will leave St. Joseph Shelter of Hope, Ikanga, at 2:00 PM, before proceeding to ACK St. Peter’s Cathedral, Voi, where the body is expected to arrive at 2:30 PM.

A church service will follow at 3:00 PM, bringing together clergy, family, friends, and mourners to honour the life and ministry of Rev. Mwakoma.

At 4:00 PM, the procession will proceed to the late Rev. Mwakoma’s home in Kirutai, where mourners will gather for the night vigil.

May the soul of Rev. Silvanus Mwakoma rest in eternal peace.

Our Diocesan Youths Coordinator, Rev. John Jackson, joined the clergy, church leadership, family, and friends in mourning the passing of the late Rev. Silvanus Mwakoma.

Rev. John Jackson paid his respects by signing the condolences book, expressing his heartfelt sympathy and standing in solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult time.

The Diocese continues to mourn the loss of a servant of God whose life and ministry touched many. We pray that the Almighty God grants the family, the clergy, and the entire church community strength, comfort, and peace during this season of grief.

Today, clergy led by our Bishop gathered at ACK St. Peter’s Cathedral for a solemn candlelight service in honour and remembrance of Rev. Mwakoma.

The service was attended by our Diocesan Youths Coordinator, Rev. John Jackson, alongside clergy and members of the faithful who came together in prayer, reflection, and solidarity with the family during this difficult time.

Beyond prayer and remembrance, the clergy also made a contribution to support the family as they prepare for the burial arrangements. This gesture reflects the spirit of Christian love, unity, and standing with one another in times of grief.

As candles were lit, they served as a symbol of the light of Christ, reminding us that even in moments of sorrow, our faith gives us hope and strength.

We continue to pray for the family, friends, clergy, and all those mourning the loss of Rev. Mwakoma.

The Wusi Archdeaconry Youth Rally was successfully held at ACK Holy Trinity–Josa, bringing together young people from all eight parishes within the archdeaconry for a day of fellowship, worship, spiritual encouragement, and growth in faith.

We give thanks to God for the successful event and extend our appreciation to ACK Holy Trinity–Josa, under the leadership of Vicar Rev. Erick Mwaita, for graciously hosting the rally and warmly receiving youths from across the archdeaconry.

The rally was particularly significant for Diocesan Youth Coordinator Rev. John Jackson, as ACK Holy Trinity–Josa is his home parish—the church that nurtured him, raised him in faith, and helped shape his journey of service to God.

Rev. John Jackson was joined by Archdeacon Ven. Oliver Mchughwa and Area Dean Cosmas Mnyika. Also present were Evangelist Zillah Nyambura, Evangelist Jones Mwabili, Evangelist Seth Wafula, and Evangelist Abel Mwanyota, who participated in ministering and encouraging the young people.

The gathering provided a valuable opportunity for youths from the eight parishes to unite in fellowship, strengthen their faith, and be inspired to remain steadfast in their commitment to serving God and making a positive impact in society.
