✓ Encountering The Supernatural(pt2)

Without understanding the person the Holy Spirit we operate in limitations and lack of clarity on the things God has spoken about the sons of the Kingdom. He ( the Holy Spirit) is the one who reveals and imparts the mysteries of God in our lives

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."( John 14:26)

The main reason why the Holy Ghost is given to you as a child of God is to help you.He gives you the ability to comprehend things beyond the natural.

When One comes to Jesus,he ceases to be a mere natural being,he is transformed into another supernatural being and becomes a mystery and a wonder within the human sphere,manifesting God on earth.The supernatural move of God in a man ,it is only possible when one has had a personal encounter with the Holy Ghost in his life.

There are so many people who have heard , taught and preached about the Holy Spirit But they have never had a personal encounter with him .
In Job 1:1-God introduces Job with a testimony

"There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil."

Despite all these credentials about Job ; blameless, upright and one who feared God and shunned evil still had a lot of questions about God. Hearing alone about God from different sources will never answer all the questions in your life about God and His Spirit. After Job had a personal encounter with God this is what he had to say;

"I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You."(Job 42:5)

Job's Personal encounter with God changed and transformed him and ushered him into another realm of God. Hearing alone is Not enough; every believer should seek to have an encounter with the Lord.

✓ The Gift Of The Holy Spirit ( Pt 23)

~Inspired by the Holy Spirit....

The supernatural is the realm of God. It is a realm that is beyond human comprehension.It takes the help of the Holy Spirit to have Abit of the knowledge of this realm. The natural can not exhaust the supernatural realm of God. What we experience on earth when God moves ,is just a glimpse of that realm.

It is a realm that is dominated with Power. The helper the Holy Spirit is the only person of the Godhead given to us to help us have Abit of the knowledge of this realm by revelation. Act 1:8, The Bible says that " You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you,then you shall be my Witnesses (translated martyr).

The power in this verse,is the supernatural power from the realm of God. This realm of God has different levels and there is no man in the natural who can exhaust the levels of the realm of God.

How does one step in this supernatural realm of God? By Faith,desire and yielding to the person the Holy Spirit. We can never be effective in the ministry of God's Word ;without stepping in this arena.

Rev 4:1..."Come up here, and I will show you..".God calls John the Revelator,to ascend to a higher place,above the natural so that he(God) may show him . There are things the church has not seen yet,God wants us to go up there, so that he may show us the divine power in his realm .

Hallelujah !!! In the supernatural realm of God, the mysteries of God dominate the realm.

✓The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit ( Pt 23)

~ The Basic Encounters With The Holy Ghost

-Every person who has truly BELIEVED in the Lord Jesus has experienced the work of the Holy Spirit in his or her life. His inward person or spirit, has been REGENERATED by the Holy Spirit(Tit 3:5), and the Holy Spirit now lives within him (Rom 8:9, 1Cor 6:19) . He has been "Born of the Spirit" John 3:5.

Many Charismatic and Pentecostals have made the error of telling certain believer that they did not posses the Holy Spirit unless they had been baptized in the Holy Spirit and spoken in tongues. But this error is obvious from the Scripture. Many Believers have much more evidence of the indwelling Spirit,they manifest the fruits of the Spirit( Gal 5:22-23) to a much greater degree, something that would be impossible apart from having the indwelling Spirit.

Just because a person has been born of Spirit,does not guarantee that he has also been baptized. According to the Bible,being born of the Spirit and being Baptized in the Holy Spirit are normally two distinct experience.(John 7:37-39).

Being Born of the spirit-Is primarily for the benefit of the one who is born again, that he/she might enjoy Eternal Life. When one is born again by the SPIRIT, he/she has a RESERVOIR of Spirit within him that gives Eternal life.

Being BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, -however,is Primarily for the benefit of others, as it EQUIPS believers to Minister to Other People by the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT.

" Rivers of Living Water" will flow from their Innermost being, bringing God's blessing to others by the POWER of the Holy Spirit. You need this person you can have Him by just calling Him.

✓ The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit (Pt 22)

~ Private & Public Use of Tongues.

The gift of various kinds of tongues would normally be accompanied by the gift of interpretation of tongues. The private use of praying in tongues however,would normally not be interpreted. Paul said that when he prayed in tongues his mind was unfaithful (1 Cor 14:14)1

When an individual prays in tongues only he is edified( 1 Cor14:4) But the entire congregation is edified when the gift of various kinds of tongues is in manifestation with the accompanying of the interpretation of tongues (1 Cor 14:4-6)

Every believer should pray in tongues every day as part of his daily fellowship with the Lord . One of the wonderful things about praying in tongues is that it doesn't require the use of your mind. That means you can pray in tongues even when your mind must be occupied with your work or other things. Paul said to the Corinthians, " I thank God ,I speak in tongues more than you all".( 1 Cor 14:16-17)

Besides all these Paul also gave instructions for speaking in Tongues. In any given gathering,the number of people who were permitted to speak out publicly in tongues was limited to two or three. They should not speak all at once, but should wait and speak on turn( 1 Cor 14:27)

Paul did not necessarily mean that only three " messages in tongues" were permitted,but that no more than three people should speak in tongues in any given service. It thought by some that if there were more than three people were frequently used in the gift of various kinds of tongues, anyone of them could yield to the Spirit and given a " message in tongues" that the Spirit desired to be manifested in the church.This means the Spirit could give more than three the same message for church. If He would never give any more than three gifts of various kinds of tongues in a gathering,there would be no need for Paul to give such instructions

~The Different Uses Of Other Tongues

It is of utmost importance that we understand the difference between the Public Use of the unknown tongues and the Private Use . Although every Spirit filled believer can speak in tongues at any time,that does not mean that God will use him in the public gift of various tongues.The Primary use of speaking in tongues is in the private devotional life of each believer.

The Corinthians, however, were coming together and simultaneously speaking in tongues without any interpretation, and of course, no one was being helped or edified by it ( 1 Cor 14:6-12, 16-19,23,26-28)

One way to differentiate between the Public Use of tongues and the Private Use of tongues is to classify the Private Use as praying in tongues and the Public Use speaking in other tongues.

In private use of tongues one does it for personal Edification and for prayer. And this happens as the individual wills ,But Public Speaking happens as the Spirit Wills. In private use of tongues the individual is in total control of it But in Public Use the Holy Spirit is in charge.

Paul mentions both uses in the fourteenth chapter of his first letter to the Corinthians.What are the differences?

When we pray in tongues , our spirits are praying to God( 1 Cor 14:2,14). Yet, when someone is suddenly anointed with the gift of various kinds of tongues,it is a message from God to the congregation ( 1 Cor 14:5), And it is understood once the interpretation is given.

According to the Scripture, we can pray in tongues as we will ( 1 Cor 14:15), but the gift of various kinds of tongues only operates as the Spirit wills( 1 Cor. 12:11)

The gift of various kinds of tongues would normally be accompanied by the gift of the interpretation of tongues. The private use of praying in tongues, however would normally not be interpreted .

✓ The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit (19)

~The Source of Private Speaking In Tongues.

Private speaking in tongues is what we call Praying in tongues. This is NOT a gift ; for one can do it anytime he wants .It is one of the rivers that flow from our spirits after being filled with the Holy Spirit.( John 7:36-38).But the gift of various speaking in tongues comes to an individual by sudden Impartation of the Holy Spirit and this happens as the Spirit wills and must be accompanied by the gift of interpretation of tongues.

According to Paul , when a BELIEVER prays in tongues , it is not his mind praying but rather his spirit:

"For if I pray in tongues , my spirit prays , but my mind is un-fruitful. What is the outcome then ? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the mind also ( 1 Cor 14: 14-15 ) .

Paul said that when he prayed in a tongue , his mind was unfruitful. That means his mind had no part in it , and he did not understand what he was praying in tongues.

So , rather than praying all the time in tongues without understanding what he was saying , Paul also spent time praying with his mind in his own language .

He spent time singing in tongues as well singing in his own language . There is a place for both kinds of praying and singing and we would be wise to follow Paul's balanced example.

Critics often claim that if modern tongues speaking was truely a gift from the Spirit , one would not be able to have control over it , lest he be guilty of controlling God. Once you have been baptized in the HOLY SPIRIT , You can easily prove yourself that your utterance in tongues is coming from your spirit rather than your mind .

The Holy Spirit does Not own the flesh ,he is the Spirit . What He does in this experience, He gives you the utterance But you do the speaking. The utterances belong to the Holy Spirit But the speaking belongs to you. Hallelujah!!

✓ The Gifts Of The Holy Spirit ( pt 16)

~ The Gift Of Various Kinds of Tongues And Interpretation Of Tongues.

The gift of various kinds of tongues is a sudden supernatural ability to speak in a language that is unknown to the speaker. The gift would normally be accompanied by the Gift Of Interpretation of Tongues, which is a sudden supernatural ability to interpret what was said in an unknown language.

This gift is called the interpretation of tongues and not the translation of tongues. For this reason it is possible to have a short " message in tongues" and longer interpretation, and vice versa.

The gift of interpretation of tongues is very similar to prophecy because it also contains no revelation in itself and would normally be for Edification, exhortation and consolation. We could almost say that, according to 1 Cor 14:5, tongues plus interpretation equals Prophecy.

" And greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets,so that the church may receive Edifying"

As I previously stated, there is no instruction given in the Bible regarding how to operate in the Power gifts, very little instructions about how to operate in the Revelation gifts,but quite a lot of instruction given on how to operate in the Utterance gifts.

This is because there was some confusion in the Corinthian Church regarding the Operation of the Utterance gifts, Paul devoted almost the entire fourteenth chapter of Corinthians to that issue.

The foremost problem concerned the proper usage of speaking in other tongues, because anybody Baptized in the Holy Spirit has the ability to speak in tongues anytime he desires. The Corinthians were doing a lot of tongues during their church services, but much of it was out of order.

There are two major classification of usage of tongues: These are Public Use and Private Use.
