THE MINISTRY OF THE ALTAR WORKER
Altar Workers must have a full understanding of the roles and responsibilities for this
ministry. They have the privilege of interceding and engaging in a spiritual battle for the souls of God's people. When a person comes to the altar in faith they will walk away changed by the Power of the Holy Ghost.
• The Altar Worker must live a life acceptable to the Lord.
• The Altar Worker must be saved and filled with the Holy Ghost.
• The Altar Worker must be confident in operating in the authority of God and really
feel the call to the ministry of prayer.
• The Altar Worker must have a life of prayer and intercession.
• The Altar Worker must be a faithful and committed tithe paying member.
• The Altar Worker must be one who is sensitive to the leading of the Holy Ghost.
• The Altar Worker must be one who has the spirit of submission and follows leadership.
• The Altar Worker must be one who understands and knows the principles of
salvation.
• The Altar Worker must have a keen eye and relationship with the Lord as well as
with the Pastor.
• The Altar Worker must know the Pastor’s heart and style of ministry. You must be
attentive and know the gestures and sign languages he sometimes uses.
• The Altar Worker must be confident in his/her gifting to intercede for individuals
and lead individuals to Christ and His Kingdom. They basically operate as the
extended arm to individuals that respond to God’s work at the altar to ensure that we
can navigate their entrance into the kingdom.

Prayer Point: Father, everyone you have ordained for me to make my journey smooth, may they appear in the name of Jesus.
They are ordained by God to assist you
They share their experiences, scars, wisdom and counsel to guide you. It is a sorry case today, some young believers don’t want to even listen to their destiny helpers forgetting that those destiny helpers have wisdom to borrow them.
They give you counsel, they give you the counsel of the most High God. Most people don’t take the counsel of their destiny helpers seriously.
Destiny helpers will save you of the pain they have been through.
They help you to be an improved version of themselves and your parents.
Destiny helpers will save you from the pain and frustration they have been through.
Destiny helpers are tools used by God to manifest His plans for you
Once you miss your destiny helpers on earth, it will only take the grace of God to still be successful that’s why you must be careful in your character. Misbehaving to your destiny helpers can chase them away from you. Till now, God is still sending destiny helpers to the world but because of ignorance, many believers have chased them away.
Job 29:15-16 says “I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame. I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not, I searched out”
There are people in this world that can’t get their bearing, some are confused, some don’t know what to do with their lives; it is a sign that they need destiny helpers.
CHARACTERISTICS OF DESTINY HELPERS
They are eyes to the blind
They are feet to the lame

DESTINY HELPERS AND DESTINY KILLERS
TOPIC: DESTINY HELPERS AND DESTINY KILLERS
TEXT: EPHESIANS 2:10
Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them”
God has a plan and purpose for our lives and there are heights we will never reach except He sends us destiny helpers. It doesn’t matter how educated you are, it doesn’t matter what you know; you need destiny helpers to rise. God is too big to make mistakes, God has exposed to us from scriptures about the ministry of destiny helpers. God is not a lone ranger, even Jesus was not a lone ranger, he understood that he needed helpers and after praying and fasting, He called on the 12 Apostles assist Him with His assignment. Without these helpers, Jesus may not have been able to do much.
Genesis 2:18 says “And the LORD God SAID, it is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him an help meet for him”. You will keep falling without the help of destiny helpers
In Jeremiah 1:5-10; Jeremiah was looking at his present situation but God was speaking to him of His original plan for his life.
Some people keep thinking and getting worried because they feel this year is already gone but God can still turn any situation around.
WHAT IS DESTINY?
Destiny is what God created you to be.
✓Destiny is your divine purpose,
✓Destiny is your assignment on earth,
✓Destiny is your pre-determine future. God has a purpose and plan for everyone.
✓Destiny is the blue print of a man
✓Destiny is a natural course of events planned by God that will inevitably happen.
✓ People can only drawback the hand of your clock but can never change your destiny.
WHO ARE DESTINY HELPERS AND WHAT DO THEY DO?
Destiny helpers connect you to the top
They facilitate your destiny
They add value to you
They are strategically positioned to help you to arrive at your expected end.
Destiny helpers go out of their way to help you
They help you navigate through obstacles

: PARENTING
“It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.” – 2John 4

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” – 3John 4

“The wise in heart will be called prudent; and sweetness of the lips increases learning.” – Proverbs 16:21 (Children learn better when parents sit them down and gently teach to correct their wayward habits. Loud and wrathful words only increase rebellion – Hosea 2:13-15)

“The rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother.” – Proverbs 29:15 (The rod of correction, not spankings, slaps, blows or fists of punishment)

“Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.” – Proverbs 22:15 (Folly is by nature, a rod well used removes it. Hands for blessing, touch)

“And, ye fathers provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” – Ephesians 6:4 (Fathers are teachers and role models to family)

“Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.” – Colossians 3:21

A: INTRODUCTION
1. How many should we have (Genesis 38:9-10)
• God created us in His image and likeness. We create as He did – Gen 1:27
• Be fruitful before multiplying, not the other way round – Gen 1:28
• After creating enough according to His plan, God rested – Gen 2:2
• Children, like arrows, require greater skill to raise. Using arrows require special skills higher than throwing rocks and/or wielding batons – Psalm 127:3-5.
• My quiver is not your quiver; do not compete like Jacob’s wives did.
• Inability to feed and provide for your family is sin – 1Tim 5:8

2. Parenting Is A Journey
• Parenting is not an event; it is a lifetime journey that changes with time. A family with children under ten cannot counsel the one with teenagers etc.
• A family therapist writer of books on parenting had his three books titled chronologically as follows:
i. First Book, with kids aged under ten - How to bring up children.
ii. Second Book, kids under twenty - Suggestions on parenting.
iii. Third Book, kids under thirty - Any Parenting ideas out there?
• Solomon too, wrote three books during his three stages of life as follows:
i. Song of Songs - as a young man, talked loosely and big.
ii. Proverbs - as a middle-aged adult, balanced in talk.
iii. Ecclesiastes - as an old man, very cautious with his words.
• Parenting is like wine. It gets sweeter as it grows old, like palm tree which becomes more useful – over 800 uses- and fruitful as it grows old – Psalm 92:12
B: FIVE PRINCIPLES OF PARENTING
1. Walk together with them – Deut 6:4-9
• On roads, to picnics, playgrounds, games, to church; accompany them.
• Initiate the talk by asking questions – Zech 4:1, Eze 37:1-4, Rev 7:13-14.
• Guide and redirect their thinking to God, giving detailed Biblical basis.
• Jesus walked with them and redirected their discussions to Himself – Lk 24:13.

2. Walk ahead of them – 2Samuel 21:15-22
• Be the good example you want them to adopt. Let them imitate you.
• David killed one giant called Goliath. His spiritual sons killed the remaining five and it was credited to David. They imitated him to the letter.
• Jesus walked ahead, was a role model to the disciples – John 1:35-37, 13:12-15

3. Walk honestly before them – Genesis 32:31-32
• Jacob honestly explained to his sons what had caused his limping.
• The sons of Belial will ridicule, but your true sons will honor your honesty.
• Jesus did not hide the wounds and scars to everybody – Isa 50:6, Lk 24:36-40
• Thomas, after seeing the scars, worshipped Jesus – John 20:20, 27-28

4. Walk away from them – 1Samuel 1:24
• Hannah left her beloved son Samuel in the hands of Eli at Shiloh.
• Abraham also left Isaac in the hands of God on Mount Moriah – Gen 22
• The father let go of his prodigal son, leaving him in the hands of God – Lk 15:11.
• Job freed his children to go partying all on their own – Job 1
• Jesus walked away from the disciples at the sea – Mt 14:22, Mk 6:45

5. Walk close behind them – Job 1:1-5
• After their celebrations, Job followed up on them with sacrifices and prayer.
• We need to sacrifice our all and pray for the children and their spouses, job etc.
• Use all means to close openings that Satan may use, including sacrifices.
• Jesus followed them up with prayer on the mountain, and then walked behind them on the stormy sea – Matthew 14:23-27, Mark 6:46.
C: CONCLUSION
• It is important for mum and dad to agree on how to bring up their children; but it is more important to bring them in the fear and admonition of God.
• Seminars and retreats on parenting will only work if they are founded on God. Any teachings outside of the Biblical basis will fail as per Psalm 127:1.
• The best way of parenting is the example you set and the words you speak in their hearing. Forcing them to obey you only serves to breed rebellion.
• To have them become “Wise”, just teach them the “Whys”.

LIFE IS LIKE A FOREST, WALK CLOSER WITH GOD
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:10

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” – 1Peter 2:9

• God chose and created us after having prepared the work for us to do. ( jer 1:5-10), (exd.33:12-23),( luke 1:12(15-17)
• Each one of us came, like David (Acts 13:22, 36) and Jeremiah (Jer 1:4), to solve a problem so that the purposes of God are accomplished and He is glorified.
• The work is called Faith works or work of faith, a work that speaks of our faith.
• To find this work, we must know the Vine (Jesus) among the trees of the forest and abide with Him, lest we get lost.

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” – John 15:5

• Life among people is like a tree in a forest. Relationships must be cautiously chosen.

“Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my lover among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.” – Songs 2:3( Jesus cursed a fig tree without fruits)

1) Have you ever dreamed of walking about in the forest unable to find the way out?
2) Forest has lions (Satan and his demons) who seek to destroy us – 1Peter 5:8
• Satan masquerades as angel of light, eg diviners - 2Cor 11:14-15
• Even angels of light cannot recognize him, only God - Job 1:6, 2:1-2
• Satan cames as angel of light, then returned to kill - 1Kings 13:1-23
• Even if an angel brought contrary message, IGNORE - Galatians 1:8

3) FOREST TREES seek our attention, TREES symbolize people – Isa 10:33, Dan 4:20

FORESTS OF LIFE THAT WE EXPERIENCE TODAY
1) FOREST OF MARRIAGE
• Young people unsure of who to marry. Tribe, color, size, faith, etc
• Many engage in test-marriages, which is sinning against God
• Others propose to more than one lady while ladies get lured with cash

2) FOREST OF BUSINESS
• Deciding what business to do is a challenge. Many do whatever comes by.
• Like in a forest, no focus, as long as you get food. Just to make a kill, even a bird
• One shop selling varieties – mitura, mitumba, car parts, airtime, chips, kerosene

3) FOREST OF CAREER
• After school, ready for any job. At school, no career chosen. Can learn any work
• In a forest, a machete cannot do any work. It is for cutting wood, not digging
• They train in teaching, insurance, mechanic, law, accounts; all foundation stages

4) FOREST OF FRIENDS
• Many cannot choose friends. They hook up with whoever comes by
• Pray for destiny helpers, friends who show you the way, namely Christ
• Walk with people greater than you, you will grow. Those low stagnate you

5) FOREST OF LIFESTYLES
• Do not copy every style. Have your signature label and be unique
• Our lifestyles are prayer, Bible study, fellowships; not surprises but normal
• Live life worthy of your calling. We are peculiar, not familiar. Be distinct

6) FOREST OF FAITH AND RELIGION
• What is your religion? What is your faith? Are you sure and clear about it?
• Christian or Muslim? Catholic or Protestant? Church member or Son of God?
• Your faith in God or in your faith? Faith or anointing oil? Jesus or Mohammed?

7) FOREST OF MINISTRY – ROMANS 12:3-8
• If singer, why do you want to be called the pastor? Just sing and grow like Rose muhando.
• Some are givers, mercy showers, harpers, dancers, administrators etc
• Every occupation is a ministry to God. Be perfect in that, even in driving

WHY WE GET LOST IN THE FOREST OF LIFE
a) Disobeying God’s Voice
God is the One who designed your life, and you were designed for a specific work. He is the author of your life, and for you to succeed, you must listen to and obey Him. Do not wait to be punished before returning. Learn from others. Only fools (who say there is no God) wait to learn from their own life, but wise sons learn from others. God speaks through His word, your pastors, the creation, your conscience etc. Israel was chosen to publish abroad God’s grace to other nations, but when they disobeyed, God handed them over to Babylonians and punished them through Nebuchadnezzar.

“Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to s*xual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.” – Romans 1:24-28

b) Being Hasty and Impatient
We have to understand that God is never late, for He is Himself time. He brings out things at the appointed time. You are His work, He is not your work, and He does with us at the fullness of time. Patience is a virtue of love, a fruit of the Spirit. Saints are admonished to patiently wait upon the Lord. At the appointed time, fullness of time, He will surely show up. Premature ministry, wealth, family etc has had many destroy their lives even before they start enjoying it, eg Ahimaaz, Princess Diana, celebs.

“Abraham and Sarah were already old and well advanced in years, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?” Then the LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son.”” – Genesis 18:11-14

“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” – Psalm 37:7

“But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently” – Romans 8:25

c) Making Wrong Decisions
We decide based on material (temporary) things instead spiritual (eternal) things. Lot ended up in a cave because his decision to go to S***m was based on materialism. If you were wrong, just accept it and you will be helped. People fear to say I was wrong. Make about turn and return to the cross road for redirection. When you are to make decisions, ask yourself, what would Jesus have done here? Who will be glorified, me, Satan or the Lord Jesus Christ? How will it affect my life with eternity in focus?

d) Being Easily Offended
Prophet Jeremiah got offended when the Jews blackmailed his ministry. He focused on the offenses and became stumbled. Jesus Christ was prophesied as one who would cause many to stumble, because of His truthfulness. Do not stumble over truth of Christ! John the Baptist got offended at Christ’s failure to do his bidding.

“If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan? For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.” – Jeremiah 12:5-6

“And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.” – Isaiah 9:14

e) Comparing With Others
The first group of people gets lost in life because of competing and comparing themselves with peers and friends who are born again. We are different, and God uses each one of us differently.

The hand of God was upon both Ezra and Nehemiah, yet they handled similar instances differently. While Ezra refused to seek the king’s help (8:21-22), Nehemiah did (2:5). Again, Ezra plucked his beard and hair and people were moved to repentance (9:1-3), but Nehemiah plucked the people’s hair and the same result was achieved (13:23). Comparing leads to frustration and disappointment. You are not in the same race!

“For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.” – 2Corinthians 10:12-13

The second group, though born again, measures their successes with every Tom, Dick and Harry. They are sheep who want to live like goats. They see life the same way heathens view it. This is pathetic, for we are to walk by faith, not by sight!

“Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts? And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.” – Malachi 3:14-15

“Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” – 1Corinthians 2:13.
