BREATH-GIVING INSIGHTS
Psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
There are two dimensions of insights that we can derive from this scripture.
The first insight which is deep in its own way is that you get to know that God is God after you have become still. So that means you have to leave everything you are doing and then become still so that you can know that He is God. In other words your focus is more on becoming still because it leads you to knowing that He is God.
The second insight which is deeper is that you become still after knowing that God is God. In other words, it is the knowledge you have about your God that makes you still. So what you pursue more is not becoming still, you pursue knowing your God deeper and deeper because your stillness is dependent on your knowledge of who He really is.
So you start at being still and then that stillness ushers you into a certain dimension of the knowledge of who God is. But you don't stop there. You begin journeying deeper into God and knowing Him more and more. Then you find the deeper you journey in Him the still you become.
This is because this knowledge that you acquire of Him changes your understanding of Him. It makes you to see Him so highly exalted among the nations and all the earth. Such an understanding gives you confidence that nothing can move you. That then results to stillness.
And the more you become still, the more you position yourself to know Him deeper and the deeper you know Him, the more still you become. One depth leads to another depth.
Daniel 11:32
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
What determines the distinction between us and the world is our revelation of who our God is.
Let's endeavor to know Him more and more. In Jesus Christ's Name.
