‎BREATH-GIVING INSIGHTS

‎Psalm 46:10
‎Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

‎There are two dimensions of insights that we can derive from this scripture.

‎The first insight which is deep in its own way is that you get to know that God is God after you have become still. So that means you have to leave everything you are doing and then become still so that you can know that He is God. In other words your focus is more on becoming still because it leads you to knowing that He is God.

‎The second insight which is deeper is that you become still after knowing that God is God. In other words, it is the knowledge you have about your God that makes you still. So what you pursue more is not becoming still, you pursue knowing your God deeper and deeper because your stillness is dependent on your knowledge of who He really is.

‎So you start at being still and then that stillness ushers you into a certain dimension of the knowledge of who God is. But you don't stop there. You begin journeying deeper into God and knowing Him more and more. Then you find the deeper you journey in Him the still you become.

This is because this knowledge that you acquire of Him changes your understanding of Him. It makes you to see Him so highly exalted among the nations and all the earth. Such an understanding gives you confidence that nothing can move you. That then results to stillness.

‎And the more you become still, the more you position yourself to know Him deeper and the deeper you know Him, the more still you become. One depth leads to another depth.

Daniel 11:32
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

What determines the distinction between us and the world is our revelation of who our God is.

Let's endeavor to know Him more and more. In Jesus Christ's Name.

We find more joy and fulfilment in giving than in receiving.

Acts 20:35 ..And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

HE GAVE US HIS BEST

John.3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God gave us His one and only Son. That means He gave us all He had.
This is not to say that He was limited in any way or He was in any lack. He owns everything.
But nothing else could match our worth except His Son Jesus.

Colossians 1:17
And He(Christ) is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

In all the things that God had, Jesus was and even now is preeminent. But another profound thing Paul shows us here is that all these things that come after Jesus are all found in Him. Hallelujah!

So when God gave us His Son, He didn't just give us Him alone. He gave every other thing that we would ever need wrapped up in Him.

Romans 8:32
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

God really desired to give us everything. He really loves us and His desire from the beginning was for us to live in fullness and abundance.

John 10: 10 (AMP)..I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

In His wisdom, He packaged everything in His ultimate gift to us - Jesus.
This was so that before we receive any other gift from Him, we would first receive what we really needed the most - His Son, His Best.

It is receiving Jesus that qualifies you to receive from Him. After receiving Him, you need to move on to receive from Him; what the Father packaged in Him.

It is possible for one to receive Him and still not receive from Him. That is why we must understand how to not just receive Him, but also receive from Him.

After being saved, the reason why one gets into a church is so that he/she may be trained on how to receive from Jesus(the ultimate gift) whom he/she received when he/she was born again.

Giving us His best was for two main reasons..
There are other reasons but these two are main and profound.

#1. So that we could give Him our best.
#2. So that we could become His best.

The second one is greater and deeper.
I can term this as the ultimate reason.

God wanted to have many sons who are exactly like His one and only Son - the best He gave.
In becoming His best, we are becoming exactly like what He gave.
When God gives you something, apart from you enjoying it, He wants you to become that thing.

And so He wanted us to become exactly like His Son (whom He gave to us) in every way.

Hebrews 2:10-11
For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren.

That's what it means to be His sons. We are exactly like His Son Jesus and for that reason we are His brethren (brothers and sisters), Him being our elder brother.

And as He is, so are we here in this world.

1John 4:17 ..because as He is, so are we in this world.

Glory to God forevermore.

2 Timothy 1:9-10
Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel...

THE PRICE WE NEED TO PAY

Whatever you want in life is possible. It depends on your willingness to pay the price.

Price defines value.
More value calls for more price.

Jesus paid all the price that was needed.
But we should understand that in doing that, He was teaching us how to also live sacrificially.

We should learn from Him and do likewise.

A sacrificial lifestyle is a must if we are to see the full manifestation of what He did for us on the cross.

2 Corinthians 5:15
And He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

Matthew 16:24
Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

The work of salvation that Jesus did was for everyone, but it only becomes a reality to those who by faith respond to it.
That response requires a work and that work is called the work of faith - believing in Him - the Savior.

John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?"
Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

When it comes to giving, it must first be from the HEART before it be from the HAND.
