With the awareness of her role as citizen, an educated woman can play a more dynamic role in addressing the economic challenges faced by her country, in the areas of agricultural production, food self-sufficiency, the fight against environmental degradation, the use and conservation of water and energy.

Education alone is obviously not enough to solve the world’s problems, but it remains an essential factor in any development activity.

Education heightens women’s awareness of the important role they can play in the community and society to find solutions to problems that impede development and social stability. Survival rates, schooling and community productivity increase as a result of women’s education, with a corresponding decrease in mother and infant mortality rates. The community and society thus become more prosperous. This is our focus point to help ensure it is achieved.

“A respect for equity demands a special effort to do away with all inequality between the s*xes in the field of education. Gender inequality lies at the root of the lasting situations of inferiority that affect women at every stage of their lives. And yet, the strategic importance of women’s education for development is today acknowledged by all experts. A very clear correlation has been established between the educational level of women and the overall improvement in the population’s health and nutrition and the drop in fertility rates.”

When women are provided with equal rights and equal access to education, they go on to participate in business and economic activity. Increased earning power and income combat against current and future poverty through feeding, clothing and providing for entire families.

The sustainability and progress of all regions depends on the success of women across the globe.

Menstruation is a particularly silent issue affecting the quality and enjoyment of education for most school girls. UNICEF estimates that one in ten menstruating girls skips school four to five days per month or completely drops out. A girl absent from school due to menstruation for four days of every 28 day cycle loses 13 learning days, the equivalent of two weeks of learning, and 104 hours of school every school term. The program seek to facilitate the provision of sanitary pads during interactive education sessions where the girls get to learn about their menstrual cycle , hygiene and get motivational talks to build self – esteem.

Providing girls with basic education is a simple assurance of giving them greater personal power and independence. They will be able to make better choices for themselves than depend on those around them for the same. This ability must not be a luxury for them but rather a necessity.
