And you will live by your sword, and will serve your brother; And it shall come to pass when you become restless, that you will break his yoke from your neck~ Genesis 27:40
Naruo rūhiū rūaku rwa njora nīruo rūgagūtūūragia, na nīūgatungatagīra mūrū wa nyūkwa; na nīgūgakinya atīrī, atī rīrīa ūgatua mīkwa,Nīūkeruta mūtī wake ngingo ūrīa aagwīkīrire.
These are words that were spoken by Isaac to his older son Esau when he found out that his father had given out the blessing which he believed belonged to him to his younger brother Jacob. The scripture says that Esau cried bitterly and I guess he must have been very devastated to know what he had just missed. He really wanted the blessing but it had already been taken by his brother and now according to the words of his father, he was to be his younger brother's servant. This is not very good news to someone who had always believed the opposite would happen, that it is his younger brother,Jacob, who was to serve him instead.
The good thing is that the same mouth that spoke and took the blessing away from Esau is the same one that spoke to him how to break his brother's yoke from his neck.
He was told, "By your sword you shall live, And you shall serve your brother; And it shall come to pass, when you become restless, That you shall break his yoke from your neck." I love this!
You see, it is not until you get tired of something that you take action. Sometimes we resign ourselves to fate and decide to allow things to flow but a time comes when we need to act: To refuse to follow the tide and arise and do something. Esau was to remain his brother's slave until he comes to a place where he says enough is enough. I'm not gonna be a slave anymore. I believe we need to come to a place where we say; I've been in this uncomfortable situation for far too long and it's time I do something about it. But I do realize that sometimes fear will not allow us to take a step and so we remain in our comfort zone because we cannot trust God to open a new door for us. We look into the future and we see uncertainty. We look back and see the struggles we have encountered to come to where we are and because we don't want to take risk, we choose to remain where we are: No progress, nothing much to show,we just don't want to risk.
Get that yoke from off your neck!! The yoke of, What will people say? The yoke of, What if the project fails? What if I'm not accepted? What if, what if? Get the yoke from your neck! There is a mighty breakthrough ahead if you will just stand up and start walking to your destiny.
Esau had two choices. To remain with his brother's yoke on his neck, or, to break the yoke and enter into his freedom.
THE CHOICE IS YOURS!
