Growing up, “home” meant different things to different people. For some, it was a place of consistent care where concerns were heard, where vulnerability was met with gentleness, where one could speak freely and be received. For others, it was less certain, a place where care depended on convenience, where words were brushed aside and where being open sometimes felt unsafe. Over time, that shapes how one carries burdens, either freely expressed or quietly suppressed, unsure of where they will be received.
In this text, Peter gives a clear and comforting invitation to cast all anxieties on God because He cares. Not some, not the manageable ones, but all. This call confronts the fear of being vulnerable, the hesitation that comes from past experiences of not being heard or understood. God’s care is not conditional or inconsistent; it is steady and personal. The believer is not called to carry burdens alone, nor to filter what is brought before Him. Every worry, every fear, every hidden weight is welcomed, not dismissed, not weaponized, but received with care.
Today we must ask ourselves: what are we still holding back? Let us lay it all before Him, honestly and without fear, because He cares.
